Last night Donald Trump was clear on the BillO show that even though he didn’t like the idea, that America has a responsibility to accept Syrian migrants here on a humanitarian basis.
But tonight he’s done a complete 180 and now says America has too many problems to take in migrants from this crisis in the Middle East.

We’re at $19 trillion. There’s only so much we can do. We have to fix our own country.
Now, Europe is handling it. Germany has been very generous so far, which is very surprising to me, to be honest with you. But there’s a huge problem, and we should help as much as possible, but we do have to fix our own country.”

Wow, that was scary, for a minute, there.
I think I was saying that those who understand shifted positions with the change of events. When it was Christians and other minorities who were being displaced, there was compassion and a call to help them. When it became apparent that it's primarily fighting-age men from the war torn areas, it's totally correct to say don't let them in.
The amazing situation now might become that if all those fighting age men leave Syria and the adjoining ISIS impacted areas and Russia moves in to save Assad, the safest place for the true victims might be in Syria, under the protection of Russia!

But why should America win? Why should America be first? There’s a good answer to those questions. The reason America sucks these days is because few know the answer.
It’s funny how Right Scoop on these websites paint this as a horrible flip flop, and then the comments section, as on FR, is like “good for him!”
Yup; it certainly beats the Hell out of doubling down on stupid because you don't have the self-confidence to deal with admitting a mistake.

I don’t think it was a total flip flop. The first questopm from the 8pm’r was do you object to these people. The question from Hannity was will you bring them in and the answer is no.
All I care is if the flops are a correction in the right direction.
He was always going to say that. On BOR the other night Trump never really said bring some in. He was just dancing around it so he didn’t get branded a hater. What he should have said was we need to bring all the Syrian Christian refugees here as others don’t seem to want them. Now that would have made a splash.
As a Christian, I feel for them and wish we could ease their pain. As an American, who has watched his country be polluted by so many who were allowed in for "noble causes", to include illegals, I say give them some aid w/o bringing them here and if we really want to help, start by destroying something/someone and tell them where to attack as far as weak spots we have created for them to help themselves......that would not be in Obama's playbook.
The reason America sucks today is because so many of our young have been softened up to become marshmallows. The liberal crowd has been busy for decencies at turning a warrior country into a country of wimps. Fortunately, the strong minded are finally waking up.
Trump is the only candidate I have heard be critical of the policy of fighting Saudi Arabia’s wars and getting nothing in return.
I think conservatives SHOULD accept Christian women and children refugees.
But unfortunately if they tried that, the Washington DC Elite would morph that into uneducated Muslim men and ISIS fighters.
You got that partly right, “ideology is a matter of life and death...” hidebound, knee-jerk, inflexible “ideology” IS the death of a nation. We need someone who can use wisdom, not ideology as their guiding principle. Ideology is only good for arguing about.
