Gramps was onto something.
There was a Life magazine article from the late 1940s, on surviving Civil War vets, and one of the guys had a full head of thick, black hair.
They asked him what the secret was. He said, “Don’t never wash it!”

I have not taken a shower in over 12 years, Dave Whitlock said. Not the best pick-up line in the world.

There’s no way a spray of any sort (well maybe Muriatic acid) could clean me up after a long day of yard work. Gads, what this must do to his clothes!
I’m not bothered by getting dirty or even dropping food and eating it anyhow—if didn’t drop in too disgusting of a spot. Dirt is good but darn it, people need a good scrub after hard work.
I do have to bathe in oatmeal in the winter instead of always showering— I get terrible itchy dry skin. But not bathing? Psssh this guy is nuts!

.
One need not spray them; just stop killing them with useless chemical concoctions.
Skin infections don’t happen if you don’t use strong soaps or anti-bacterials.

"says he doesn't miss bathing at all"
Has anyone asked those who have to work and live around him if they "miss" him not bathing for 12 years?

Gramps became one of General Pershing’s show—chau—drivers later in WWI. Not everyone drove back then, but he did.
I believe he adopted a, uh, more natural lifestyle later in life.
Grandma didn’t allow him to go to church that way though, so I’m guessing he spruced-up on Sat. night.

No one did clinical trials on people taking showers every day. So whats the basis for assuming that that is a healthy practice? Whitlock said. I don't know that anyone said it was necessarily healthy. But it is definitely required for social interaction. And most women will not tolerate their men not smelling clean. But I totally agree with this statement:
Weve taken the dirt out of our lives. We dont spend as much time outdoors as we used to even as little children."
