Lifeguards have issued two fines and warned more than 600 people from jumping into waters off San Diego's Sunset Cliffs amid this weekend's dangerous swimming conditions.
San Diego Police and Lifeguards have been actively enforcing the "No Cliff Jumping" policy posted along various spots on the cliff line. Two people that jumped off the cliffs were ticketed, officials said.
The National Weather Service issued a Beach Hazards Statement for San Diego and Orange County beaches, starting at 11 a.m. on Saturday, and lasting through 10 p.m. Tuesday.
Lifeguards across San Diego County rescued more than 135 people from strong rip currents and tides on Saturday alone.
A storm way out in the Pacific generated a fairly large swell that arrived Saturday.
Waves from 4 to 6 feet will build and break across the shores with occasional 7 to 8 foot sets. The biggest waves will be present on Sunday.
It is very important to swim near a lifeguard, NBC 7 Meteorologist Jodi Kodesh said. They know where the rips are and will be able to keep you safe.

It’s a dangerous area, but a very popular surfing area as well. I love sunset cliffs. I would never leave Arizona, but if I could have a vacation home anywhere in the world, it would be sunset cliffs.

And what ethnicity would that be?

Just ask them to put their wallets or other ID in a box before they jump. They can get it back, if they survive. If not, their ID can be forwarded to the next of kin. Between the rip tides and the sharks, the Stupidity will be self-correcting...
It's way cheaper.

Don’t confuse swimming in San Diego with snorkeling in San Francisco.
