Speaker s worst nightmare is on the rise here in rural North Carolina. Senator Mark Meadows is gaining steam as a clearly coordinated, highly orchestrated effort to remove Boehner as Speaker of the United States House of Representativesand fix a broken Congress that no longer represents the wishes of the American peoplecomes into much clearer focus.

EXCLUSIVE BEHIND THE SCENES WITH JOHN BOEHNERS WORST NIGHTMARE: MARK MEADOWS LAUNCHES MISSION TO FIX BROKEN CONGRESS
Did you both omit the link AND change the title?
Senator?
Wishful thinking.
It’s Sunday, Gunner . . be a little patient with someone trying to learn the layout. It may be a little sloppy . . but can you tell I’m very proud to live in Burke County and have such a fine Representative?
Mark Meadows included this in his weekly email newsletter:
“Last week, after months of prayer and deliberation, I chose to file House Resolution 385, calling for a change in leadership in the House of Representatives. The decision to pursue new leadership in the House isnt about personalities or individuals, but about creating a dialogue around the need for institutional change to allow for open debate and true representative government in the House. Under the current leadership, a few at the top make the decisions on incredibly consequential legislation impacting the entire nation. H.Res. 385 outlines several correcting measures that, if enacted, will make sure the American people have a voice on the critical votes coming up in Congress this Fall.
The American people spoke on Election Day 2014. They told their elected representatives in Washington that they were tired of the “Washington Way” of back-door dealing and the power being consolidated in the hands of a few House members. Whether you are a Republican, a Democrat, or an Independent, your voice deserves to be heard in Washington. I am committed to working to create a more open discourse within the House of Representatives and working with my colleagues to ensure the voices of the American people are heard. I want to thank you for the overwhelming outpouring of support that so many have expressed for making your voice a priority in Washington, D.C. “
Wishful thinking in a news article or even a commentary sure takes a lot from the author’s credibility.
I agree, Tupelo . . but I bet even YOU have made an error or two in your life. Lighten up.
He has rural NC behind him on ousting Boehner.
I hope they do get the votes to remove this drunk....
and then I would like to see the GOPee spineless sissies go after Mr. Mc Turtle....
Is it not wishful thinking you might win the lottery one day? Is it not wishful thinking that we might get a non-establishment standard bearer?
It is not wishful thinking that talking about it and acting on it will result in one never having the chance to happen?
I would say that at one time “wishful thinking” was the same thing that our founding fathers had only to start with.
Or maybe you would consider the actions of Admiral Farragut started as wishful thinking.
On August 5, 1864, Farragut won a great victory in the Battle of Mobile Bay. Mobile, Alabama, was then the Confederacy’s last major open port on the Gulf of Mexico. The bay was heavily mined (tethered naval mines were then known as “torpedoes”). Farragut ordered his fleet to charge the bay. When the monitor USS Tecumseh struck a mine and sank, the others began to pull back.
Farragut could see the ships pulling back from his high perch, where he was lashed to the rigging of his flagship, USS Hartford.
“What’s the trouble?”, he shouted through a trumpet to USS Brooklyn.
“Torpedoes”, was the shouted reply.
“Damn the torpedoes.”, said Farragut, “Four bells, Captain Drayton, go ahead. Jouett, full speed.” The bulk of the fleet succeeded in entering the bay.
Farragut triumphed over the opposition of heavy batteries in Fort Morgan and Fort Gaines to defeat the squadron of Admiral Franklin Buchanan.
Me too, HarleyLady; hence, my wishful thinking for a Senator like Mark.
Meadows is Representative, not a Senator.
==
Many will see this as retaliation for Meadows losing his subcommittee chairmanship in June.
He needs to either do it or STFU.
If he does it, it will cause a rift inside the House Republican majority. So, do it now and hopefully heal the rift before the actual election year (2016) starts.
Oh I make plenty. But I do not label them as news stories for Breitbart News. Maybe that is why I questioned.
LOL, Mazda. Perhaps I should have said ‘Freudian Slip’ rather than ‘wishful thinking.’ But I enjoyed your lesson in phraseology and verbiage nonetheless.
I highly doubt this will fix Congress. It'll just break it further...which is not necessarily a bad thing.
Paraphrasing FReeper Lake Living: the stratospheric rise of Donald Trump, and the strength of 2016 anti-establishment candidates, proves GOPe'ers Boehner and McConnell grossly underestimated the partys grassroots.
Conservatives they contemptuously dismissed as "the fringe" are now proving to be a resounding majority. What normal people knew all along.
You had every right to question and I do wish we had a way to correct our errors before the onslaught of ‘professors of teachable moments’ destroy the context of the message. Hopefully we have now killed the messenger and thrown out the baby and can get past the yuuuuuge mistake I made this morning.
