There's a reason Bartolo Colon starts have become must-see events and social media happenings on the grandest scale. Every time he's on the field, there's a high probability of something strange, extremely unlikely or highly amusing happening, which essentially guarantees the viewing audience will be entertained.
More often than not, Colon's batting provides the entertainment value. Whether he's getting a hit or just swinging and missing and losing his helmet, the internet rejoices all the same. ..."
On Saturday, though, Colon changed things up and wowed us with his athleticism on defense. And in the process, he may have broken that same internet.

“Colón grew up in a home without electricity, running water, or indoor plumbing in the town of Altamira in the Dominican Republic. He worked 12-hour days with his brothers, sister and father, Miguel, picking beans and fruit.[1] His mother’s name was Adriana. He does major charity work for his old community.[2] The family could not afford balls or gloves so they substituted tightly wound rags for balls and milk cartons for gloves.[1]”

My colon does that sometimes.
And conditioning never has been his strong point.
I recall being in the players' parking lot at Maryvale (Brewers' spring training) when Colon, then with the Angels, drove in. He was scheduled to start in a "B" game. He was already in uniform and climbed down out of his pickup with a one liter Mexican Coke in hand (made with sugar, not HFCS).
He polished it off with a couple of large swigs, tossed it back in the cab...and grabbed another one before waddling his way to the visitors' clubhouse.
Up close, he is incredibly round!
Let’s Go Mets!!!
Thanks for the little vid, how do you post those? I was just trying to do one today ... thanks!

no kidding, but in the clips of this throw, he looked mighty nimble for such a big guy.
Broke the internet? Al Gore’s gonna be pissed!
You should see what he can do with a double cheeseburger and a plate of fries
Well, he’s a pitcher so anything he does with the bat is pure bonus. And nobody ever accused Mickey Lolich or Wilbur Wood of being thin either.
He took a good rip!
They're known as animated "gifs", as in .gif files. There are free web sites, such as gifsoup.com, that allows you to create them yourself from previously posted YouTube videos (perhaps other sources as well?). However, I've never used any of the programs, or created an animated gif myself.
All I did here was do a Yahoo Images search for "Bartolo Colon" and ".gif". Most of the resulting images were gifs, these sorts of short animations. Maybe someone else can provide you with more info on creating them yourself. Or you can look up how to do it yourself.

When he throws a no hitter that way...
Someone must have fixed the internet because mine is working.
Guess I should have tried to find this elsewhere so to keep the focus on the great play, instead of the dopey headline writer’s attempt at being cool and trendy.
Ping
Yep. He destroyed it, alright.
Naw, it’s cute. ;)

Perhaps the play you linked to was more incredible overall. But since the first part of it was the result of blind luck (the ball hitting the pitcher's foot), the only fair comparison to make would be between the two guys who made the play at 1st. In that case, I would say it's a close call: back-handed flip vs behind the back toss.
