I hope they kept them or found them a good home.........
I think that should read the “Black” Warrior river..
Never heard of the “Warrior” river in bama..
Big ol’ Awwwwwww!
Stranded on an island or what?
The kittens were capable of reaching the boat, so I would have thought they could probably cross the river too if they wanted. Still I guess it took this boat before they got the notion.
Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww
In the sweep raft at the end of the group and we were a couple of miles into the canyon when I looked back up river and saw something swimming toward me in the middle of the river.
Thought it was beaver but turned out to be a young, female, German Shepherd mix, 6 mos - 1 yr old.
Pulled her into the raft, took her down the river and gave her to my buddy, another guide.
Named her Sandy after Big Sandy Creek. Had her for a long time. Never figured out how she got down in the canyon.
Hmm, that’s kind of weird. Can’t figure out exactly what happened. Were those kittens on that island and did they jump in the water to get away from it? Those guys should go check it out and make sure there aren’t more marooned kittens on it. Because I don’t think many cats would jump in the water and swim off away from safe dry land. Had pythons made it to those islands spooked the kitties? Obviously, they were domesticated cats, not feral. So there is another wrinkle. WTF?... Sorry, I’m just totally flummoxed by the whole episode.
Thank you. That was great!
This story is just too cool!
Smart and lucky little kitties! Curious of what the theories of the two guys might be on how the kitties got there, and what their future might be ...
Found this ...”There were no houses for miles, Frost said. Somebody probably dropped them off there in the middle of the night. They were so desperate they swam all the way out to us and almost jumped in the boat.
“When they got back to dry land, a family with two young daughters quickly became enamored with the kitties and offered to adopt them.
But not before the two guys dried the cats off, gave them some water to drink, and spent some quality time with the felines on their boat.
They played with us all day, Frost said. They were loving on us and people went by and thought we were these crazy people who took their cats fishing.

Amazing!
Thank you. We needed good news for a change.
I hope they get good nautical names!
