1) Two way radios are an excellent idea
2) A loud whistle can help people find you even if they don't have a radio
3) People who are lost should usually just stop and stay where they are. The people looking for you generally know where you started and that's where they will start. If you move, you may very well move away from where the searchers are congregating. You don't want that.

Yep, a whistle is cheap survival gear. You can hear a good whistle from quite a distance compared to just yelling, plus everyone in the area will hear it.
