As the mainstream media and liberal talking heads slam Donald Trump as a racist for wanting to get rid of birthright citizenship, they ought to take a look in the mirror.
In a speech before Congress in 1993 and uncovered by conservative website The Right Scoop, Sen. blasted the fact that illegal aliens were given rewards for having babies in the United States. Heck, he even used the dreaded term illegal alien.
If making it easy to be an illegal alien isnt enough, how about offering a reward for being an illegal immigrant? Reid asked. No sane country would do that, right?
Reid then slammed the fact that children of illegals are rewarded with U.S. citizenship and given social services in this country.
The Nevada senator asked, with that information, Is it any wonder that two-thirds of the babies born at taxpayer expense in county-run hospitals in Los Angeles are born to illegal alien mothers?
Wonder if anyone on the left is going to call him a racist.

Oh, c’mon. Give ole Dingy Harry a break. The corrupt old bast@rd “evolved”, donchaknow. Likely the result of previous beatings that weren’t so obvious....and significant head trauma. It “enlightened” him. Just as the latest beating helped him “evolve”.
Only the Harry Reid types are allowed to evolve. Usually they go in the wrong direction as Reid proves.

You are one of the few who understands what country you really live in and how it really works. Kudos.
That was back when we still had a sane government. We are well down the rabbit hole now. Drug Cartels, Terrorist Cartels, Sex Cartels and Eco Cartels run the place now.
And no sane country would allow the word, “fiesta,” to be considered racist!

Taking a look around the world, and at home, I can honestly state that Man has NOT evolved. In fact, Man, if there is a "theory" to describe it all, has certainly not evolved but has de-evolved.
The "theory" advocated by Darwin and Marx and the common Progressive is pure garbage. Man is what the Fall has made him: a creature not much advanced than that of a common animal. Instincts and attitudes and actions. All on a relative par with the basest of wild animals. Satan has done a grand job.
Harry finally figured out that they weren’t illegals, they were undocumented democrats, and then he embraced them.
But they, of course, are the high priests of Marxist thought and are above it all. Cue the Animal Farm pigs...............
My headaches are starting, again. Not really. Harry sounds like a TEA Party member...?
More people are seeing it and understanding what’s happening every day. Even the blacks are starting to see through the bs. Things will never be the same after Trump, even if he’s not the nominee. Its been a long time coming.
AMEN!!!
Right. Especially, Trump is not allowed to evolve.
Amazing how fat left the left has gone isn’t it? All of them are straight up bat crap crazy!
"The true key for the construction of everything doubtful in a law is the intention of the law-makers. This is most safely gathered from the words, but may be sought also in extraneous circumstances provided they do not contradict the express words of the law." --Thomas Jefferson to Albert Gallatin, 1808.
Hypothetically speaking, even if all legal voters in the USA supported the idea of automatic citizenship for anchor babies, based on the intentions of the proposers of the 14th Amendment as indicated by the congressional record, if neither parent is a USA citizen then their USA-born child is likewise not a USA citizen.
Below are excerpts from the congressional record which show this. The first excerpt is the clarification of the 14th Amendments jurisdiction clause by post-Civil War Senator Jacob Howard.
"The first amendment is to section one, declaring that all persons born in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the States wherein they reside. I do not propose to say anything on that subject except that the question of citizenship has been so fully discussed in this body as not to need any further elucidation, in my opinion. This amendment which I have offered is simply declaratory of what I regard as the law of the land already, that every person born within the limits of the United States, and subject to their jurisdiction, is by virtue of natural law and national law a citizen of the United States. This will not, of course, include persons born in the United States who are foreigners, aliens [emphases added], who belong to the families of ambassadors or foreign ministers accredited to the Government of the United States, but will include every other class of persons. It settles the great question of citizenship and removes all doubt as to what persons are or are not citizens of the United States. This has long been a great desideratum in the jurisprudence and legislation of this country. Senator Jacob Howard, Congressional Globe, 1774 - 1875 Congressional Globe, Senate, 39th Congress, 1st Session.
And since some pro-anchor baby people will argue that the words foreigners and aliens in the above excerpt are merely descriptive of the families of ambassadors or foreign ministers language that follow it, below is another official perspective on what the 14th Amendments jurisdiction clause means which indicates that foreigners and aliens were not intended to merely to be descriptive of such families.
"Of course my opinion is not any better than that of any other member of the Senate; but it is very clear to me that there is nothing whatever in the suggestions of the Senator from Wisconsin. The provision is, that all persons born in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens. That means subject to the complete jurisdiction thereof. Now, does the Senator from Wisconsin pretend to say that the Navajo Indians are subject to the Complete jurisdiction of the United States? What do we mean by subject to the jurisdiction of the United States? Not owing allegiance to anybody else. That is what it means. [emphases added] Can you sue a Navajo Indian in court? Are they in any sense subject to the complete jurisdiction of the United States? By no means. We make Senator Lyman Trumbull, Congressional Globe, 1774 - 1875 Congressional Globe, Senate, 39th Congress, 1st Session. (See middle of first column.)
Where the wires really (but unsurprisingly) got crossed with respect to federal government powers to define rules on citizenship (1.8.4) is the following. Activist justices had infiltrated the Supreme Court as early as the last years of the 19th century as evidenced by the following. Regardless of the clarifications of the 14th Amendments jurisdicition clause in the congressional record, the Supremes had rewritten both the Constitution and the congressional record by declaring in United States v. Wong Kim Ark that basically anybody born in the USA was a USA citizen.
Again, even if all legal voters in the USA thought that anchor babies should automatically be citizens, it remains the Constitution would need to be amended to change the language in the 14th Amendment to make that happen imo, as opposed activist justices amending the Constitution outside the framework of the Constitution.
Even a broken clock is right twice in a day.
