Leave it to the left-wing anti-gun nuts to try and get something like this banned.
Nowadays most smart phones have emojis. The Apple iPhone has a revolver emoji that is used while texting others.
You can use the emoji however you want, the point is sending someone an emoji of a gun is in no way able to harm another.
But gun activist in New York think it can lead to violence so theyre trying to get Apple to ban its use. The group called New Yorkers Against Gun Violence has petitioned Apple with their Disarm the iPhone campaign and are seeing if Apple will ban it from their phones.
< snip - reference to Infowars which basically repeats the stuff from the New Yorkers Against Gun Violence site and links to the gun grabber's video >
(remainder of article)
For one thing the video in question gets the statistics wrong.
There were not 30,000 deaths related to guns last year.
In 2014, 12,552 deaths were gun-related.
The WORST year for gun violence on record is 1993, where there were 18,253 gun-related fatalities.
Furthermore the digital gun is protected by the first amendment, something the NYAGV should be very glad exists.
The idiocy in trying to get the gun emoji banned shows just how separated from reality anti-gunners really are. Bans dont work on real guns, so why would they work on make-pretend guns you share with close friends?

They have an 'open letter to Apple' that reads like the typical irrational gun grabber glop complete with symbolic gestures and the requisite background checks (for emoji guns too I guess) while restating the same flawed statistics in their video...
Dear Apple,
We love what you do. What you make. What you stand for.
Theres just one thing we dont like.
And were writing you in hopes of gaining your support.
You see, despite 33,000 American deaths caused by gun
violence every year, including the many recent tragic
shootings, there has been no legislative action for
stricter gun accessibility. Even President Obama has
voiced his frustration, stating, Congress will not
budge and no real action can occur unless the American
people feel enough urgency.
So, what can we do?
We realized that many Americans unknowingly carry a
gun with them every day. The one that was given to them
without a background check: the gun emoji.
We ask that you stand with the American people and remove
the gun emoji from all your products as a symbolic gesture
to limit gun accessibility. We understand taking the emoji
out will not end gun violence, but this act will show
Congress that gun-owning and non-owning Americans have
come together to demand required background checks for ALL
gun sales.
Please, help us Disarm The iPhone. Thank you.
Sincerely,
DisarmTheiPhone
Since the gun grabbers want to flood Tim Cook's twit-thing page with stupid stuff to prove that they are irrational twits, maybe some twitted responses from more rational people should be sent Cook's way. But then, he is a lib so who knows whether he feels that an emoji is a big bad threat.
Yes, I know that those Twit-thing messages are called 'tweets' but 'twitting' on 'Twitter' especially when by liberal 'twits' just somehow seems more.. descriptive.
These anti-gun guys are following their noses and have found themselves in an awkward position. In an announcement similar to this one, I see that somebody has called for movie producers to “destroy a real gun for every gun that appears in a movie they produce” ( quote from memory. ) Well, this would be a few tens of guns if you think of the movie as a single item, so I’m supposing that the intention is to match the sum of gun appearances across all the showings, which is riciculous in the other extreme.
Ironically, these geniuses have not thought of calling upon movie producers to eliminate guns from movies. Cuz’ c’mon!
What’s a emogi? Oh, wait (middle finger.)
That's what is produced by typing with dyslectic fingers? ;-)
Keep in mind that rational thought is non-existent in those life-forms..
If you want on or off the Mac Ping List, Freepmail me.
:-)
I REALLY wanted to use a stronger four letter work that "heck". . .
Ummm..
The intent was mentally supplied.. ;-)
cars, knives, planes,, bikes, helicopters....
Maybe not knives. It will only give them new ideas.
What is the difference between emojis and emoticons?
What is an emoji?
What in the Wild Wild World of Sports is that?
It had to be done. 👍🏻
It's a superglorified smiley...
And its not restricted to smileys, it could be anything. This is one...
So is this...

Now look what you’ve done. Untold millions of gungrabber freaks are positively dying of apoplexy...
