Where I hunt, a certain pack is known to wander. In addition to my rifle, I keep a 9 on my hip with two extra magazines and a box of shells. I’m not going to end up as wolf-dinner.
Practice hitting moving targets with the 9, and targets which are coming at you. Approach speeds will rival or exceed a tweeker with a knife, and the target is lower to the ground.
The reemergence of wolves and cougars is going to take a bite out of the hippie type nature lovers who like to wander the woods unarmed and barefoot. (Pun intended)
