TimTebow got a warm Philly welcome.
Tebow threw for 69 yards and ran for a touchdown in his first game in two years, Kenjon Barner returned a punt 92 yards for a touchdown and ran for a score and the Philadelphia Eagles beat the Indianapolis Colts, 36-10, on Sunday.
Tebow got a standing ovation when he entered midway through the third quarter and the crowd roared so loud when his name was introduced he had to quiet them down because he was taking the snap in a shotgun.
He dove into the pylon on a seven-yard touchdown run late in the fourth quarter and finished with 15 yards rushing on four carries. He completed six of 12 passes and was sacked twice.
Tebow hadn't played since the 2013 preseason with New England until the Eagles (1-0) signed him to compete with Matt Barkley for the No. 3 spot behind Sam Bradford and Mark Sanchez. Barkley was 12 of 20 for 192 yards and one interception.
Rookie first-round pick Nelson Agholor caught a 39-yard touchdown pass from Sanchez. Bradford and All-Pro running back DeMarco Murray didn't play.
Playing their first game since losing to the Patriots in the AFC championship game that began the Deflategate saga, the Colts (0-1) didn't seem as if they prepared much for Philadelphia's up-tempo offense and they were missing several defensive starters.
But making sure players get reps is more important than scheming for a unique offense they're not going to see in the regular season.
Quarterback Andrew Luck completed five of six for 43 yards and left during the second series.
Tebow completed his first four passes. His first went for a five-yard gain and then he fired one over the middle to Eric Tomlinson for a 15-yard gain on third-and-12 play.

I am also UF alumni LOL! Daughter is just finishing up at FSU so I have to cheer for them too. I just love that Tebow is back.
Tebow needs some Donal Trump in him. He could have told the media off many a time, effectively, but turned the other cheek. That got him nowhere. I hope his persona toughens up as much as his game.
I’m a fanatic Bama fan but have nothing but respect for Tebow. Best of luck to him.
Meant to say “fanatical”. Time for bed, I think.
I want the guy to succeed just so all the Freepers that sided with the MSM have to eat a big plate of...crow.
I agree with you on this one.
What acceptance? He never played a single down in a game that counts. If he was being pushed with an agenda he’d be in the league today. Much like if Tebow were being pushed OUT with an agenda he would not.
The only problem Tebow ever really faced was having a legend bigger than his talents. Players in that situation face a lot of media criticism. Ask Johnny Manziel, Tony Romo, Matt Leinert, Vince Young, Jeff George, Payton Manning after another playoff loss. That’s the price for taking the air out of the room while leaving plays on the field.
AHHH I don’t know
I think ESPN now being metrosexual guys wouldn’t mind having Michael Sam do broadcast
Hey ESPN gave a gig to that bigmouth Tim McCarver
Either Sanchez or Bradford will be starter and Barkley will be second string. Since the loser of the Sanchez/Bradford fight will probably be cut then Tebow could stick with the team as third string.

I’m sorry, but perhaps I’m misreading your comment.
Bradford 1
Sanchez 2
Barkley 3
Tebow 4
That’s the depth chart prior to the game. And the depth chart you reference in your post.
You seem to be suggesting that (say Bradford wins the starter’s job) that the Eagles would get rid of their #2 guy on the depth chart to keep #4. Or even stranger, that they would get rid of Bradford (currently #1) if Sanchez wins the job and Tebow (currently #4) stays.
With tongue firmly planted in cheek, that is why you are an anonymous contributor to an anonymous internet forum and not a player development guy in the NFL.
Are you contending that the
Teams have stuck with and improved the skills of far lesser players and do so every season. Vinny Testeverde anyone?
<><><><
You mean 2 time pro bowler Vinny Testaverde?
It’s a fun prediction game to play, the Eagle’s QB pick’em.
I think Sanchez doesn’t make it, they start Bradford, and keep the other QB’s for when Bradford gets injured around week 1 of the regular season.
Everybody wanted Sanchez to work, but he’s turned out to be the second coming of Ryan Leaf.
I think that Sanchez and Bradford are both fighting for the number one spot. Barkley is number 2 and Tebow is number 3. Whoever loses the number one spot is not going to remain with the team; salary cap reasons alone would prevent that. Bradford is about a $13 million hit to the cap and Sanchez is about $5.5 million. No team is going to pay that much for a second stringer. So regardless of who is the first string, Tebow has a good shot at remaining on the roster as the third string, unless he does so badly that the Eagles cut him and bring in someone to replace him. His performance on Sunday doesn't warrant that yet.

You may well be correct on that point, but according to this site, Sanchez’s cap hit is 3.75 mil, not your 5.5.

Bradfords 13 and Sanchez at 3.75 together at 16.75 is about the same number 10 NFL teams have tied up (in cap space) for just their starter, so it may not be out of the question to keep them both.
Pointing out that Tebow wasn’t good enough at the time is a waste of bandwidth. Tebow was discriminated against by the NFL and ESPN because, because, because....how could it not be so?
He was two for five yesterday for thirteen yards. He gained exactly twice as many yards on one of his three runs than he did through the air. He is not making the case that he's improved enough to start in the NFL.
I hope TT makes the roster and finds a way to contribute.
Well he isn't doing anything to play himself out of the third string role and since the Eagles have four quarterbacks, and I don't see both Sanchez and Bradford staying with the team once they break camp, then I think Tebow's chances of sticking with the Eagles are pretty good. Part of that depends on who is available after the last round of cuts. But he's not a first string QB and never will be.
Anyway, this President Donald Trump has really taken the nation by storm. We need to savor these days as we are not likely to see them ever again.
