The movie is a flop with only 13 million.

Both actors; Armie Hammer and Henry Cavill look very similar. I’m surprised the director did not look for a co star who brings greater contrast. An extreme example of contract would be the movie “Twins” with Arnold Schwartzeneger and that short, mouthy guy from Taxi.

Anybody see this movie? Mick LaSalle of SF gate gives it a “C” but Mal Vincent gives it a B+ becasue he’s glad it has a comprehendable plot.

We decided instead to go see Mission Impossible last night, and it was a fun movie.

I enjoyed the original “The Man from U.N.C.L.E.” series so much that I dubbed myself “The Man from U.N.C.L.E.A.R.” in respect. No joke.

Is it ironic or appropriate that somebody with Armie Hammer’s background is playing a Russian agent?

It was timed bad and you could blame the studio execs. Everyone who’s in the LA pipeline knew the movie was ready more than a year ago. It was just held back as cavill was finishing up post edit for Superman V Batman.

Really can't stand these movies based on old TV shows. When I was a youngster, I watched Man From U.N.C.L.E religiously. I was in love with David McCallum back then. Now I ask myself, why?

Most movies like this aren't worth my time. I'm old enough to remember the originals fondly, and any attempt to recreate the original, or worse, to completely destroy the original’s concepts and make it into something new and different will just fall flat with me. I guess Hollywood is running out of ideas because they keep recycling old shows and movies. Why should I waste at least $10 to see something so unoriginal?

When I saw the poster for this movie I was actually shocked that Solo had not been cast as a black guy.

“The Long Ranger” was universally panned. But I watched it on DVD and it wasn’t bad at all. Armie Hammer did fine.

I was confused by the title because in Black lingo “super bad” mean really cool/powerful. But when this reviewer still uses the traditional square flat-footed meaning.

No David McCallum, no Man From UNCLE.

I love Armie Hammer as The Lone Ranger. I own it on DVD and have watched it numerous times. I wish they’d make a sequel.

Well, no one under 40 even know the old TV show. I don’t know who they thought they were making this for.

Leave it to idiots in Hollywood to take a great TV show and ruin it as a movie. They have done it to so many other shows that could have been great movie franchises.

The only one that has worked, outside of sci-fi, Star Trek, is Mission Impossible.

If I have read the reviews and story line right they scrapped the UNCLE theme and made them part of the CIA and KGB. They destroyed the entire premise of the TV show.

Henry was in the mini-series, The Tudors, and I think he’s hot.
He looks like a man, talks like a man and acts like a man.

He’s much more masculine than the Nancy boy who played Henry and fruits like Cruise and Pitt.
