Apollo 14 astronaut claims peace-loving aliens prevented 'nuclear war' on Earth

From “The Day the Earth Stood Still” to “Close Encounters of the Third Kind” to “E.T.,” pop culture is filled with stories about friendly, curious extraterrestrials visiting Earth to learn more about mankind. For Apollo 14 veteran Edgar Mitchell that plotline is less fiction than it is reality. The sixth man to walk the surface of the moon told Mirror online that he believes peace-keeping aliens visited our planet to prevent a nuclear war between Russia and the United States.

The idea sounds far-fetched, but Mitchell claims that military insiders viewed strange flying crafts cruising over U.S. missile bases and the White Sands facility in New Mexico, the site of the first-ever nuclear bomb detonation in 1945.

“They wanted to know about our military capabilities,” he said. “My own experience talking to people has made it clear the ETs had been attempting to keep us from going to war and help create peace on Earth.”

Mitchell, who grew up near the famous Roswell site in New Mexico, said that he has heard from various Air Force officers who claim UFOs were a regular site during the Cold War.

Of course they wouldn't intervene directly. They abducted earthlings and trained their human offspring to act as agents for them.

Yes, you should dismiss this man, by any casual flippancy available. Since, you could stand his mark- toe to toe, right?

“We asked Nick Pope, a former Ministry of Defence UFO researcher, whether he believed Mitchell’s claims.”

“Given that the Universe is around 14 billion years old, if we’re being visited, it’s unlikely we’re dealing with a civilisation just a few hundred years ahead of us, so stories of aliens managing to disrupt a few of our weapons tests are far-fetched.

“Chances are they’d be millions of years ahead of us and could do anything they wanted to.”

And if they were millions of years ahead of us and could do anything they wanted, then perhaps they wouldn’t want to interfere with our growth as a the human race other than to prevent Mutually Assured Destruction of the planet.

Al, Wally and Neil will be honoring any secrecy agreements for a long time to come. Sadly, all have passed on.

When the old-timers who know the ropes, and are paid accordingly, won't politely retire early in order to save the company money make way for fresh and upcoming B1B immigrants, management was left with few (other) options..?

Here are a couple known projects that never made it to fruition:

The Air Force toyed with a project for awhile in the early 60’s called Blue Gemini which was aimed at ultimately putting Air Force astronauts aboard a Manned Orbital Development System. That idea was abandoned to pursue one of a Manned Orbital Laboratory—also abandoned. Everything about the Blue Gemini project was meant to be internal within the Air Force, so the possibility was there for unannounced launches and missions. All that was scrapped by 1969. SkyLab was the civilian implementation of the general ideas.

A shuttle-like vehicle, the Boeing X-20-Dyna Soar was another Air Force program aimed at getting Air Force astronauts into space. A mock-up was built but that project was also canned just construction on real hardware began.

They should do an Abrams-verse Trek with Daniel Craig as Gary Seven.

I wonder if he has a book deal coming out?

It's a very good market niche for at least one moon-walking astronaut to exploit. Without commenting on the ethics of it, it certainly seems like a good marketing decision on his part.

Sure, no problem. I share something in common with this man. We both have done things to advance society that the other has not.

And I'm not talking about waking-up and going to get the paper in our bedroom slippers. Real stuff. Like walking on the Moon. Or rescuing horses.

It's just that our trajectories were different. God Bless Edgar Mitchell, who appears to be aging.
