Don’t listen to anyone who is yapping about getting on blood pressure meds. They kill. High blood pressure is only a symptom. Lowering it with those drugs doesn’t address the problem.

After tomorrow you can check out a zillion free websites on natural lifestyle ways to lower blood pressure. First we want to just get your lowest possible result on your job test. I’ll be praying for you. Mine goes up and down dramatically on those tests so I do get it.

Water with lemon - drink a bunch before you go.
Magnesium is said to work.

Also go buy a cheap pressure cuff and practice, though u have procrastinated badly.

take a deeep breathe which you hold for 20 seconds or so as if pooping, exhale and THEN activate the cuff.

Do this a bunch of times, timing is important.

Im pretty sure youre not taking this seriously, though, if u waited this long to ask.

ok, well that sounds reasonable.. if its just a couple of points then eat some vitamins and minerals (dont take one, take 5)

Turmeric, Cinnamon, magnesium, vitamin d, eat nothing but bananas and oatmeal from now until then... relax, watch something FUNNY on TV - get to bed early and get to the exam early, take a COOL shower before you leave.

In short, do all the stuff you’re supposed to be doing normally- not just before an exam

because people are treating their high blood pressures early in life, either by losing weight, or taking meds, IS the main reason people are surviving strokes and heart attacks and living longer....

see what you BP is then follow your doc's advice...

stay alive!

You aren’t saying much more than this is for exam, so I’m guessing this is one time, but if it is routinely high PLEASE get help. Stroke is no joke. Diazepam reduces arterial blood pressure significantly. 5 to 10 mg is VERY effective in lowering BP. Routine to use diazepam (valium) IV in hospitals to help lower it. i am not recommending you to take it, you should ask a doc, but it is a pretty common and effective way to lower bp.

Two or three beers will put most people beyond legally drunk for CDL purposes (BAC must be below 0.04% with a CDL).

Thank you. It is for my CDL and job.

Last time I got my MC for my class A license, I totally blew the number...

I asked the tech to give me a minute to relax and take it again.

Took a couple of deep breaths relaxed and passed...

Some here think I should be unemployed because of some arbitrary government number.

Yup, I had to get my doctor to sign off that I do not have sleep apnea because my neck is larger than 18 " around and my BMI was too high...

The BMI number I needed to pass would mean I would look like a skeleton...

I'm a big boned heavy muscled guy...

I would need to weight 165 lbs to pass the BMI...I think I weighed that when I was 14 years old... and very little fat...

It is for my CDL and job. I was 144 over 98.
Those numbers are edging you close to stroke/heart attack territory. Behind the wheel of a truck is probably not the place to be.
I suggest discussing a long term plan with your doctor including some meds (I hate meds!), exercise and diet.

Whatever you do, don't drink a couple bottles of wine the night before. It didn't affect my BP, but it resulted in a warning for anemia, a first for me.

Do not engage in any physical exercise, as it will up your BP and blood sugar readings.

Hot water bath lowers my BP. Stay away from salt.

Viagra or Cialis, who do u think they tell old guys on BP meds to avoid either of those?

Cuz BP under BOTH of those would be lowered quite drmatically.

So BONER PILLS, bro, about two hours before, and keep checking it with your own cuff in your car.

NO SALT, no talking, feet flat on floor, no moving, arrive very early.

During measurement imagine your FAVORITE calm place during early childhood.

PRACTICE, you idiot.

Stay away from nicotine, caffene, and meth. Take grandma’s bp meds.
