I've agonized, like many here, these past couple days. I honestly believed there was a concerted effort to embarrass and knock Trump off, a conspiracy if you will, but Ive come full circle and now feel differently, very differently.
I dont think there was any conspiracy. I think the Fox trio, worked hard to challenge the candidates, and independently from Rupert Murdock or Ailes or anyone else.
Right out of the gate it was great TV. After the opening salvo, you didnt want to turn your tv off.
And what happened? Each candidate was hit with a zinger. Trump was hit the most, and I doubt that anyone else running for office could have answered like he did.
He swatted their best shots as well as Newt would.
And what else happened? Fox tried to take the rest of the group out with tough questions. And they all rose to the occasion, except maybe Bush, who seemed to play it safe...perhaps Walker too.
I think all in all Fox showed why the interviews of Obama are a big joke. Obama or Hillary could never stand up to the barrage that our side took last week.
And I am proud of everyone, including Chris, Kelly and Brett... and all of our candidates.
I pray that eventually we will all coalesce and unite. I think Trump can and will do that. It makes no sense to run third party... makes no sense. He's way ahead now, and he's taking shots left and right.
What is left now, is for someone to sit down with him, and ask him some serious policy questions about our country, and how he sees us winning. He can tell us. It's right there in his book, Making America No. One Again.
I'm waiting for some one like Kelly to have read the book and ask him questions on what he says in the book.
The bottom line, if you can't handle Chris, Kelly and Brett, how in the heck are you going to handle Putin, the Chinese, the Iranians etc?
I hope Trump rises to the occasion and doesnt op out on any future debates. I hope he remain himself.
I think he will. He fired his manager, who apparently was a milktoast.
If Kelly is smart she'll find some way to make it right with Trump. She'll invite him back on her show.
He'll refuse of course, then eventually he'll accept, and it will be the biggest show of her career, and the two will be best of friends.
You know why? because she is a lot like Trump.
She's a class act. She could taken Erickson's invite, who btw is a classless act, a joke and a loser.
In short, I am excited. The top four, Trump, Cruz, Carson and Carli and all outsiders. What does that tell you folks!!!!?
“Don’t forget that your heroine Megyn Kelly was directly hired by Roger Ailes, who is as establishment GOP as you can get. He personally consulted for the Bushes for many years and also gave his blessing to Mitt Romney four years ago. Roger Ailes personally interviews every Fox News on-air employee to ensure that they will be under his thumb will convey the right message.”
Given Roger’s sterling background in working for winners such as Reagan, Limbaugh, and Jack Welch of GE, I’m not ready to pin the blame on him. He only runs the network. His boss Rupert owns the network, and by extention, he owns Roger, too, as long as Roger works there.
Rupert is the one calling the shots at Fox News.
I believe Missy PC Kelly’s questions were influenced by another fox blabber mouth - Juan Williams - fox’s latest data point to Affirmative Action!
I bet Putin has WAY MORE RESPECT for Trump than Kelly.
I would bet too Putin sees Kelly as nothing but a woman he would like to sleep with.
Nobody who sneers at God has any class. Kelly is a bimbo. The sound of her toenails clicking across the linoleum to launch into a yipping barkfest is just annoying.
Yes, good point. However, in recent years, Ailes has definitely moved towards the center. I believe Ailes made a comment a few months ago that he was “not impressed” with Ted Cruz and didn’t think he’d make a good president. There was a thread here on Free Republic about it back around April or May.
We all bow to your knowledge.
I honestly believed there was a concerted effort to embarrass and knock Trump off, a conspiracy if you will,
Quite a contradiction in statements.
As for me, I don't think you know what the heck to believe........You lonely tonight?
I don't really have to put the caption here, do I?
Right there is the (your) problem....
This country is 20 trillion++++++++ in debt, 93 million people are not working, close to 50 million on food stamps, PP is selling baby parts, the infighting between every imaginable group, race, is ready to explode into a civil war, untold and who knows what is coming across our border, obamao gave Carte Blanch to Iran.....and you think it is "great TV"
I could go one but hopefully YOU get the point
We’ll see if Megyn dixie-chicked her career with her debate antics, but she is an amazing talent, and her attractiveness certainly helps her.
She was and currently is a lefty, but she is smart enough to grow up. I saw her on O’Reilly’s show once and she admitted that she was starting to see the value of his moral fuddy-duddy worldview, especially now that she has children
Windflier and I had a discussion last night about the historical powerhouses who started as libs and became conservatives, namely Reagan and Churchill. If both Trump and Megyn followed in their footsteps, they would not exactly be Reagan nor Churchill, but they would be effective fighters for our side.
Agree ......100%
Me-Gyn is FNC’s version of CNN’s Nancy Grace ... silly friggin presstitutes with no clue.
Shes still not going to sleep with you.
"It seems that many Trump bots turned on their televisions to watch a game of beanbag and Megan Kelly came to a political debate."
Ouch. And I thought you were all about posting thoughtful comments. ~sigh~
You're incorrect though, in assuming people wanted some lovefest with big fat softballs. The criticism I hear is that the farcical "debate" was too much WWF, or Murdochian tablod, or plain high school juvenility. I for one was hoping ( against hope when "Fox" is involved ) for something along the lines of William F. Buckley seriousness. I believe we all at least expected identical questions to be posed to each candidate so each gets to answer the same one. Instead they were almost all tailored questions, unique to the individuals, and thus no comparison can be made between the candidates. Complete epic fail at the entire purpose of the gathering. The "debate" was no different than 24/7/365 Fox News programming.
"Megan Kelly came to a political debate"
. Not sure what you watched. Megyn came in with an agenda, not with some noble journalistic intentions. Recall that Megyn Motormouth had previously used NOT the age-old 'when did you stop beating your wife' gotcha. No, she in fact used the 'when did you stop raping your wife', a new low, even for Foxey News and the Murdoch universe. I remind you she did this live on-the-air, breathlessly reading it as breaking news. She did no mea culpa later even after his ex-wife killed that story dead in hours. That was days earlier and is necessary information to evaluate what happened at the "debate".
Her two consecutive gotchas were both sneaky in lack of context. The correct Jeopardy responses would be What did Trump say to Rosie O'Donnell after she attacked his family, and the women of the Miss USA pageant Alex? for the first one, and What did Trump say to the Apprentice contestant who said she dropped to her knees Alex? for the other.
To recap, that is not one, not two, but three dirty tricks in a row just from this one little beyotch. She is right up there with Dan Rather. But feel free to portay it as journalism. I'm sure Charles does over at LGF.
I expect the women on the View tomorrow to continue the misrepresentation that Kelly premised.
So Kelly is causing problems from where none were and she was also totally out of context, which is why Levin even called it an National Enquirer debate.
Kelly is a hack and has misguided further the low information voter.
Come on! Be truthful!
You have the “hots” for her don’t you?
Come on, we all know by this stupid posting...you simply had a good dream last night and now you think she is the hottest thing since a habanero pepper.
Come on! We all just gotta know.
They merely glossed over the threat of Islam to this country and most did not know the difference between radicalized Islam and “peaceful” Islam (as if there is such a thing). All these candidates are PC to the bone when it comes to describing Islam and all its vicious offshoots.
An old-school professional would not go on that harpy-fest. But her ego is officially out of control. You know, the first time I saw her in Hannity’s timeslot, she turned me off. She was so full of herself it came right through the camera. Give me Greta any day.
She’s always reminded me of Nancy Grace.
What a steaming load. They are all just puppets of their masters.
Fox and Kelly are now off my TV after the debate.
