When I was a little kid the only vegetables that I would eat were raw carrots. I ate them because I liked Bugs Bunny and Bugs Bunny ate raw carrots.

Sooner or later Warner Bros. will have Bugs ‘come out of the closet’ and I’ll be done with him.

We always loved Bugs whenever he was shown at the movies in the 1940’s through 1950’s.

Saturday on CN or boomerang, there was a modern era bugs and daffy cartoon that was pretty good. Somehow bugs wound up in an Albanian prison and daffy joined the Marines and got bugs out jail. Daffy got out on flat feet after the rescue.

Bugs died when Mel Blanc passed away.

So did all the other Warner Brothers cartoon characters.

Gosh, I miss Mel Blanc.

Cartoons today suck. Even the art/animation is crap. Every character is a pizza faced, snot oozing loser with first grade stick people looks. There hasn’t been a good one made since early 70’s.

They had 25 Sunday cartoons at the theater...before we had a TV. My dad got free passes from a client. Life was good.

GOOD LORD!
I'm Older Than Bugs Bunny!
I Had No Idea!
For Some Reason I thought Bugs had been around since the early 1930's

And they’ll have an opportunity to tune in for more. Variety Magazine recently reported that Time Warner’s Boomerang Network channel would be running brand new episodes featuring Bugs Bunny.

And I’ll bet the farm they will be watered down, sanitized, PC crap with no guns, so boring and bland, they’ll fail miserably.

I still remember (aghast) a Bugs, Daffy & Elmer about whether it was Rabbit or Duck Season. I’ve seen the full cartoon before and since and loved it BUT this particular showing must have been at the height of the Cartoon Violence craze. I think that there were 4 or more times in the cartoon where crafty Bugs got Daffy to say “Duck Season” and Elmer pulled the trigger.

Now in the full cartoon, you saw Elmer pull the trigger, you saw the smoke and heard the bang and Daffy’s bill got spun, twisted etc. from the blast. In this benighted scissors&paste showing, all that was shown to the presumably impressionable kiddies was Elmer reacting and Daffy adjusting. All of the violence was removed! Wowsers what a relief, our kid’s innocence was SAVED!

My best guess was that it was either a new grad from Touchy-Feely who did the hatchet job OR a totally disgruntled tech under orders who probably thought; “OK, you want no violence, I’ll show you what you get!” I could just feel the karma being spread, or was that the fertilizer?

Bugs needs to get with the times by becoming either transgendered like Caitlyn or coming out of the closet as a flamboyant gay rabbit. Besides his cartoons are full of micro aggressions and might frighten today’s youth who would then need to hide in their safe places.

I think Bugs, Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck and the others fall into the public domain in 2019, or four years from now.
