Thank you ice cream God.
“Makes my tummy happy just thinking about it. “
A friend makes her own ice-cream. Nothing I’ve bought in the store compares to it. She uses real cream and regular milk. Those are the only ingredients. I find myself wondering why, since it’s so simple to make, can’t a manufacturer come up with something at least as tasty?
When we were living in Texas Blue Bell was our ice cream of choice. Later on, when we found it in a Kentucky store while on vacation, we were really disappointed. I’d assume what we bought was a half gallon that had been in the store freezer a bit too long and gone “stale”. But now living back up in the north midwest we have found Edy’s to be the best thing going since those halcyon days of Texas and fresh Blue Bell.
yes
Sigh...
If it ain’t Blue Bell, it’ ain’t Ice Cream !
our local Piggly Wiggly (NC coast) carries it....we like it...love the conservative ownership.....some of their flavors are awesome...some so so....but def better than most.
Amazing they are able to come back. I really wonder if this wasn’t an attempt by bam bam regulators to shut down a conservative company.
There will be people standing in line in the ferocious Texas heat to get their first Blue Bell fix of the summer. And it will be worth it!
Best Ice cream in the country?? No... The best ice cream: ‘Shady Glen’
Probably won’t taste the same. Like when the benzene was taken from Perrier.
Not a lot of cream in ice cream any more. These days you can freeze it down to forty below and then with one hand push a knife right thru it. It has a sort of rubbery emulsified feel to it. If it isn’t Carvel I don’t bother anymore. “Breyers” used to be a decent treat 40 years ago. It isn’t worth space in the garbage can today.
No thanks. They were too lazy and incompetent the first time around and I highly doubt they learned anything since.
Thanks for the update.
The best ice cream in Texas is made by HEB
HEBs house brand is as close a second as I have found and for a much better price.
I found some Blue Bell here in Oregon last summer. I tried the Rocky Road.
It was not very good, compared to the local northwest brand I usually buy, whose name escapes me right now.
I don’t bring ice cream home anymore. The others in my house have a fat and sugar problem.
Blue Bell wasn’t that good before it turns out they were trying to kill the customer. I’ll stick with Talenti.
