Australian reality show contestants got a lot more than they bargained for when producers sent them to Syria to spend a night in a camp with Kurdish militants and run from ISIS gunfire.
The show Go Back To Where You Came From tries to change contestants' views on immigration by showing them what refugees go through.
How better than to take them to see what the UN has called the worst refugee crisis in 25 years?
"At one stage we were 800 metres from the front line and definitely getting shot at," Kim Vuga, one of three contestants, told The Sydney Morning Herald.
In a preview, the group can be seen wearing body armour and being hustled around a compound, hiding behind walls while gunfire echoes in the background.
"I started realizing maybe we were in something really serious," contestant Nicole said.
The show airs July 28, 29 and 30.
Oh boo hoo. Sounds like guilt trip TV. The point of emigrating a country should be that you no longer have allegiance to that place, and no longer wish to live that lifestyle. It's a profound, often once-in-a-lifetime event. It's not supposed to be easy. If it's easy, then people who have no allegiance to your country are the ones who arrive, and they just bring their old hell-hole ways with them.
The pro immigrant propaganda appears well financed and ubiquitous. Is there no counter-propaganda campaign that shows how uncontrolled immigration tears down a functioning society? These people may be escaping something horrible, but the horror is built right into their culture. It’s like moving cancer cells from infected people to uninfected people.
So...
now the contestants will be more sympathetic to and become media advocates for hoards of moehammedan refugees? Bring all the warring Islamic tribes to Australia so they can be placed on the dole and unite in their hate for the infidel?
Looks like the Aussies are less worried about wrongful death lawsuits
Neither Australia nor the U.S. have immigrants suffering the persecution equal to those fleeing Syria.
Instead the lesson should be that of the “just war” and the consequences for the oppressors.
It’s not a reality show. It’s pure propaganda disguised as entertainment.
Is hunting ISIS similar to Hunting Crocs in the outback I wonder? Or Fruit Bats?
Fruit bats are neat. Croc’s not so much. As for ISIS, ISIS hunting Aussies or Americans is like sheep hunting lions.
I saw that pic on of the bat on your Homepage.
Yep, they’re large but harmless. Kinda cute too esp. the little guys.
I believe they are lying to get people to watch and no “contestants” were really in any danger.
