Go ahead and post in bite size pieces. McCain is calling conservatives “crazies”. Let’s fling the ‘crazy’ back in his face.

According to General Tran Van Quang is the archives in Moscow - 1205 US prisoners were being held. Quang said that many of the prisoners would be held back from Washington after the accords as bargaining chips for war reparations. General Quang’s report added: “This is a big number, Officially until now we published a list of only 368 prisoners of war.

Intersting that there is some questions if this is true . But under the Reagan Administration there was a request from Vietnam for a $4 Billion ransom for the US POW/MIAs still being held in Vietnam.

Up until 1993 there was the possibility of 600 POW/MIAs still in Vietnam. But it was believed many would no longer be alive

A-4s don't have afterburners.

If that's not enough all of the planes waiting their turn had their engines pointed away from the ship out over the sea.

He’s just repeating DemoRat propaganda from the 2008 election cycle.

The amazing thing is that anyone would think they needed to invent dirt on McCain. I have literally dozens of links for real dirt on him.

Basically, a Zuni rocket on another plane spontaneously fired off (a known problem), piercing a fuel tank on another plane, spilling and igniting jet fuel (think kerosene) on its way into the sea.

McCain, in his hurried egress, more than likely dropped a bomb from his plane in his panic from the fire and the explosives/fuel he was sitting on top of.

That bomb eventually went off from being in the fire, setting off the other explosions, killing the firefighters.

McCain didn't bother to help either fight the fire along with those also untrained in firefighting, or those scrambling to try to rescue any survivors.

Thank you for the spotting diagram, and thanks to those who pointed out that the A-4 didn’t have an afterburner. Am I correct in my understanding that an afterburner is a necessary prerequisite to executing a wet start? (Not a pilot here)

How many other pilots helped with the fire suppression? Would the 1,000 lb. bomb not have cooked off if it had stayed attached to the plane? Did the other seven Composition B bombs cook off because they were dropped from their planes?

I get that he didn’t. If his aircraft was started in the position that the diagram indicates, it wouldn’t have mattered anyway since the exhaust was pointed over the side, right?

I hadn’t heard the ‘wet start’ theory before today. As far as I’m concerned, it has been put to bed.
