"I see AMC renewed Turn: Washington’s Spies for a third season. Whoo-hoo!

So excited about that. The fans really went to the wall with the RenewTURN campaign.

Give me more Simcoe!

“Turn” has been outstanding.

When I first started watching it, I thought that most of the characters were fictional.

Nice surprise that most of the characters were real people.

Especially Benedict Arnold—learning a lot him that I did not know.

I see AMC renewed Turn: Washington’s Spies for a third season. Whoo-hoo!! Waiting for Longmire’s next season to show up on Netflix, and I’m sure gonna’ miss Cullen Bohannon (Hell on Wheels) when it ends next year.

Hadn't heard the news on either, but I don't usually find out something's back until it is, or that it's going to end until they start hyping the last season. Glad Turn is coming back. This season was better than Season 1, IMO. I'll be sad to see Cullen go too, especially after they shut down Raylan this last year. (Never got into Longmire).

BTW...I've never been into "vampire" movies...but I really liked the Blade and Underworld series...

I liked blade due to the action...and underworld due to the action....and well.....uh...

LOL

She looked great, definitely...and I love that catsuit.

I do like the vampire genre...I haven’t seen “Blade”, though. And I’m loving “The Strain.”

If you ever get the urge to see a vampire flick that is truly scary, check out “30 Days of Night.” I can’t watch it at night.

I think that I saw “30 Days of Night”. That was from 2007. Even further back is “The Thing”, from 1982. Both are very scary.

They made reference to this a couple of episodes ago. Captain told the Chaplain he was worried because his Special Ops team was getting crispy, but would never admit it. He said because they had not been able to find enough replacements at Norfolk to have 2 teams, they would have to find a way to keep pushing.

I'm watching it and think it's the best sci-fi program I've seen in a while. As far as Capt. Tom Chandler, Eric Dane is doing an awesome job playing his part........

Virtually every episode requires him to make a critical decision due to the adversity presented to him and he does it without fail.

Excellent writing on the parts of the producers.......

You’re right-—2007! Those vampires were what I imagine they would be if they really existed-—pure evil.

The ‘82 version of “The Thing” is extremely scary and suspenseful. I have to look away during the scene where the creature comes out of the dog.

It’s just too hard to watch animals being hurt.

Someone’s gotta say it...
“Wagon Train” is the original video model for all of these shows. The ‘captain’- Trail Boss- stayed at his post though.
BTW the episodes are still enjoyable if you can handle B&W. Young Clint Eastwood and good guest stars, intelligent stories.

The original book did not state that, and even in the series I haven’t heard them mention Global Warming.

“The unimaginable has happened. The world has been plunged into all-out nuclear war. Sailing near the Arctic Circle, the U.S.S. Nathan James is relatively unscathed, but the future is grim and Captain Thomas is facing mutiny from the tattered remnants of his crew. With civilization in ruins, he urges those that remain—one-hundred-and-fifty-two men and twenty-six women—to pull together in search of land. Once they reach safety, however, the men and women on board realize that they are earth’s last remaining survivors—and they’ve all been exposed to radiation. When none of the women seems able to conceive, fear sets in. Will this be the end of humankind?”

That’s the synopsis for the book.

The only thing about the TV show that might be linked to climate would be the Dr. finding a “primordial” strain of the flu in the arctic after digging for 6 months. Doesn’t sound like much Ice melted.

I think the author of the article might have been doing some wishful thinking. If the director did intend to write that into the script, it got left on the cutting room floor.

I agree.
There must be some former Navy guys helping on the writing chores.

I think it’s well made, and the soldiers make me proud every episode.

It seems they have some excellent technical staff as well...the actors seem pretty comfortable in weapons handling and proceedures.

I hadnt really thought of the shows as science fiction until you mentioned it...more of an action drama.

Clint Eastwood was on Rawhide. Wagon Train starred Frank McGrath and eventually had Robert Fuller, who later starred on Emergency.
