[ ... ] Gawker managing editor Nick Denton released the following statement: "Yesterday evening, Gawker.com published a story about the CFO of Conde Nast texting an escort. It was an editorial call, a close call around which there were more internal disagreements than usual. And it is a decision I regret ... The point of this story was not in my view sufficient to offset the embarrassment to the subject and his family. [...]

No need to speculate on if this was a Republican thing. We already recognize that hypocrisy through countless examples.
What gets me is the obsequiousness of it. The incestiuousness of it all. News media creates a news story, other media types make news out of the created news story Originator of the News story creates more news based on the response news to their original created news story.
Obviously Gawker backs down after being pushed by the GERT, Gay Emergency Response Team and told of consequences for doing that.
-- ref: http://www.condenast.com/content/about-us-executive-team David Geithner is the chief financial officer of Condé Nast.
Previously, Mr. Geithner was executive vice-president of Time, Inc. and president of their Style & Entertainment Group, where he managed six of the companys largest brands. During his twenty year tenure at Time, Inc., Mr. Geithner held several senior executive roles across the companys portfolio, including responsibility for the business operations of Mexico City-based Grupo Expansión (GEx), a significant media group of consumer and business media brands in Mexico.
Mr. Geithner is active in the New York City chapter of the Alzheimers Association, where he has served as a board member since 2006 and is a board sponsor of its Hispanic outreach efforts. In 2011, Mr. Geithner also served as a David Rockefeller Fellow in a program sponsored by the Partnership for New York that exposes leaders to the private, public and non-profit sectors of New York City.
Mr. Geithner graduated from Dartmouth with a B.A. in government and also earned an M.B.A. from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University. He lives in Larchmont, NY with his wife and three children.
The ‘embarrassment’ was not exposing a gay porn star. It was that Ted Cruz was shown to NOT be a monster.
Thus the retraction.
Faggotry
So weird and nasty
Worship at the altar of the brown starfish
That must be the clincher, that there was no ‘gotcha’ in their latest rabbit trap for Ted. Otherwise, there are so, so many other things to be worried about in today’s world, and this is little caper not even on my list.
Although I have my issues with Rush, he is 100% right about one thing. Liberals always overreach. Always. Their tunnel vision tor destroying conservatives assures it.
Late Friday, Gawker Media's editorial staff issued a statement strongly opposed to the decision to pull the post, saying, "We are united in objecting to editorial decisions being made by a majority of non-editorial managers. Disagreements about editorial judgment are matters to be resolved by editorial employees. We condemn the takedown in the strongest possible terms."Wouldn't "the strongest possible terms" involve submitting your resignations?
Can we speculate on "if this was a straight thing?"
Can we speculate on "if this wasn't a member of the 0.1% thing?"
I feel sorry for Mr. Geithner’s wife and children.
You forgot the MOST important part of the bio....this is Timothy Geithner’s brother
.this is Timothy Geithners brother
That’s the reason it was pulled.
Can’t be tarnishing the messiah’s crown!
Paging Major Garrett....
That’s what I said
