I had one of those with a 4 meg Ram Disk on a PCI card, talk about quick. I liked the II GS GUI much more than the Mac back in the day, I even had a GUI for the Apple II.

I had 4 or five GS's a few years back but gave the all away when I had to make a move. Such is life. I still have a 15 inch G4 PowerBook that works and a G4 Mac Mini running OS 9 Classic under OS X 10.4.

Apple got big with their open architecture, then they promptly went to the Mac and closed it. That’s when I ceased to be a fan.

My first computer was a used Apple //e, 128 kbytes of RAM, two 140kB disk drives, black & white monitor, joystick, 150 programs for $3500 in 1982. Ten years before, a comparable system would have cost 10-20X and wouldn’t have been nearly as user friendly — no VisiCalc, no DbaseII, no integrated Dbase/VisiCalc/WordProcessor (can’t remember the name), and no games.

This is weird that Apple is updating such an old platform. Why bother?

I was in college when Apple introduced the IIgs.

The Apple rep had a display of one in the student union.

I wanted one so bad I could taste it, but it was light years out of what I could afford.

Wots the latest on that crappy $300 watch. You know the Asians are bailing on it and the gays rather spend it on porn.
