Just watched a really wierd old flick with Bruce Dern
called World gone Wild. What a hoot. Dern had a few good
lines...Played militant hippy oldster, who smoked pot and
ate mushrooms. Corny but kind of fun.

Although he is best known for his westerns, Ennio Morricone also did the brilliant soundtrack to Battle of Algiers in 1966.

Ennio Morricone has been in my thoughts when it comes to phenomenal compositions, and orchestration since the sixties. I’m so glad he’s still around.
Incredible talent.

Ennio Morricone is a genius at what he does. His ability to come up with the perfect score for whatever film he’s working on is amazing. I’ve always been especially impressed with his work on Once Upon a Time in The West, as he did that one with almost zero budget and still turned out an amazing final product.
The only Morricone score I don’t care for all that much is the one he did for the 1987 version of The Untouchables. It’s dated compared to his other works, sounding very late 80’s, rather than timeless (too much synth). And some of the scenes don’t match up all that well with the music, IMHO. It’s a good score, but not what I’d expect from a master of the craft, if that makes sense.
Just MHO, of course.

His music for “ONCE UPON A TIME IN AMERICA” may be the best of all time IMO

I believe he did some of the score for American Sniper.
Clint Eastwood, himself a musician, did also..!
