A pro-abortion Democrat Senator is getting criticism for a comment suggesting that only churches enjoy First Amendment religious freedom protections, and that those freedoms do not extend to individual people.
The comment is a huge concern for pro-life advocates who are worried about being forced to pay for abortions with their tax dollars or insurance premiums. The concerns also extend to pro-life medical professionals like doctors and nurses who do not want to be forced to perform or assist in or refer for abortions.
Balwdins comments are instructive for the pro-life movement because they come at a time when abortion advocates are pushing abortion well beyond its legal status to become a mandate where pro-life people are forced to pay for abortions, refer for them or promote them in some other shape or form.
Newsbusters captured the comments from pro-abortion Senator Tammy Baldwin of Wisconsin:
Tammy Baldwin: Certainly the first amendment says that in institutions of faith that there is absolute power to, you know, to observe deeply held religious beliefs. But I dont think it extends far beyond that. Weve seen the set of arguments play out in issues such as access to contraception. Should it be the individual pharmacist whose religious beliefs guides whether a prescription is filled, or in this context, theyre talking about expanding this far beyond our churches and synagogues to businesses and individuals across this country. I think there are clear limits that have been set in other contexts and we ought to abide by those in this new context across America.
Tom Blumer of Newsbusters responded to Balwins comments:
Baldwin is generous enough to say that institutions of faith are safe. What a pal. Baldwin seems to have missed the Hobby Lobby ruling. Though the video ends after Baldwins statement, its highly doubtful that Kornacki challenged Baldwin on this or any other aspect of her tyranny-supportive statement.
Many people dont accept religion because they believe that many of its adherents mouth pieties on Saturdays or Sundays and act the same as non-religious people during the rest of the week. Now its becoming quite clear that the government and many of its elected representatives want to make sure that everyone who attends church gets forced into that mode.
This is an oxymoron. There are NO pro-life Democrats. This was made abundantly clear when Bart Stupak sold out for Obamacare.
Moral people need to understand that voting for ANY Democrat is cooperating in evil.
Also known as Tammy the Ditz.
I’m sorry. It is a tautology, not an oxymoron.
It’s time Ms. Baldwin and others understand;
If you try and take away our 1st amendment rights, we are going to exercise our 2nd amendment rights.
We knew where you were going...
;-)
It’s almost here:

Totalitarianism:

2. absolute control by the state or a governing branch of a highly centralized institution.
3. the character or quality of an autocratic or authoritarian individual, group, or government:
Contemporary Examples:
1."Among the most lethal forms of totalitarianism have been the Nazi, Soviet, Communist Chinese and Islamist varieties."
2."Everyone who attends church gets forced ...."
Well, I am a Church of one.
Receiving the most votes confers no wisdom.
During biblical times, many if not most of the churches were in individual homes. The "church" meant followers of Christ. Sometimes they gathered together and had their services outdoors - in an empty field.
"The kingdom of God is within you." (Luke 17:20-21).
Ditz? Dyke!
Well stated......
> As a response to the comments of the learned gentle-lady I’m tempted to post a photo of a female personal device...but that would be wrong.
Indeed. It would be an insult to “devices.”
Christians need to organize state wide and tag this Senator so it’s clear Christians have voting rights and can send bigots to the moon.
