Yep, I hired a senior developer the other day (the kid is shy of half my age). He asked for a number, unknown to him was really close to mine, and my boss gave it to him. I am looking as we speak, time for me to get a raise.
You didn’t work at all hard this year and so you are not getting a raise.
What about the question that comes up when you’ve been working in one area of the company for five years, where they ask you “where do you see yourself in the next five years”.
That area of the company has work for that long, and you’ve been with the company for 22 years.
