He’s a Democrat I’d rather ignore.
O beautiful for spacious skies,
For amber waves of grain,
For purple mountain majesties
Above the fruited plain!
America! America! God shed His grace on thee,
And crown thy good with brotherhood
From sea to shining sea!
O beautiful for pilgrim feet,
Whose stern impassiond stress
A thoroughfare for freedom beat
Across the wilderness!
America! America! God mend thine evry flaw,
Confirm thy soul in self-control,
Thy liberty in law!
O beautiful for heroes proved In liberating strife,
Who more than self their country loved,
And mercy more than life!
America! America! May God thy gold refine
Till all success be nobleness,
And evry gain divine!
O Beautiful for patriot dream
That sees beyond the years
Thine alabaster cities gleam,
Undimmed by human tears!
America! America! God shed His grace on thee,
And crown thy good with brotherhood
From sea to shining sea!

Thank you!!! Love it!!
Saw him with the Houston Symphony a few weeks after 9/11. I told my lady friend that if he sang it, I’d cry. He did and I did.
This is my favorite - Charlie Rich. I listened to it today and it made me cry. He is talking about legal immigrant and how happy they are to be Americans.

Tonight while all the fire crackers and the fire works displays go off, this presentation of what I consider the best version of “America The Beautiful”, by the late Ray Charles LIVE was being played. Mark Levin plays this song every Friday night to close out his week of broadcasting this is how beloved this version of “America The Beautiful” is.
I loved that!
My husband and I had just gotten finished watching the local fireworks, when I saw your post.
We were able to see amazing fireworks on our balcony from the local University; and we were able to see a few of the highest ones from other areas, probably a few from the National Mall.
But there were a lot from the areas that surround us closely - mostly Hispanic residents. I was a little worried that they were so close and loud - (and the fireworks were probably illegal, according to local rules...)
But most of the residents here, are not illegal;

So once upon a time, I bought my parents Ray Charles tickets for their wedding ammiversary. My dad couldn't contain himself.
Unfortunately, the gig was cancelled due to lack of ticket sales. Biggest disapointment of my life.
