I rented this a couple years ago from Netflix. So many memories. My, how this country has changed since then. I’m glad the Duke isn’t here to see what the America he knew has become.

Very interesting that John Wayne and Ronald Reagan had major differences over the Panama Canal. Wayne actually insulted RR in a letter, claiming Reagan didn’t know what he was talking about.

"Sure I wave the American flag.
Do you know a better flag to wave?

Sure I love my country with all her faults.
I'm not ashamed of that, never have been, never will be"

Good thing you weren’t on trial! I looked it up, since I didn’t have any idea. I watched “Bonanza” on reruns in the early 80s.

Old Westerns would run on the local station on Saturday and Sunday afternoons, and my father would clean his guns and polish his shoes while I ironed his uniforms. Good memories ...

right up to the 90’s Channel 39 in Dallas;FE was running westerns all the time, as well as older shows like the original Battlestar Galactica.

It was one of my favorite stations back then.

I think its a spanish channel now

So many series that are forgotten now ... “High Chaparral” and “Lancer” ... with great casts of those people you recognize in movies all the time but don’t remember their names.

I didn’t care much for the actual show, “The High Chaparral”, but I made sure that, every time the show came on, I was tuned in. I just loved the theme song ...

I liked Linda Cristal as Victoria Montoya, and her brother Manolo.

Manolo was unique, with his Old-World manners and refinement.

He could have been played by Cesar Romero.

Ah! That could be. I’d take Henry Darrow though.

I recognize all the people seen. They had talent.
Today’s celebs are mere shadows.
