PORTLAND, Ore.,- A vlogger (Video Blogger) specializing in Apple products shared a video to answer the question, "How many iPhones does it take to stop an AK-74 bullet?"
Daniel, the owner of YouTube channel EverythingApplePro, lined up a group of iPhones -- and one Samsung Galaxy -- to test whether the phones could deflect a bullet from his assault rifle.
"The answer to that question is five iPhones," Daniel said in the YouTube video, after shooting through the line of phones and verifying the sixth phone in the lineup was untouched.
The bullet was lodged in the fifth phone, a cheap iPhone 6 clone.
A second bullet fired into the lineup landed on the sixth phone after punching through the already-damaged phones.
The sixth phone, an iPhone 5S, was damaged, but it survived the shot and remained functioning.
"Overall, I'd say it takes six iPhones to save your life in case someone shoots at you," Daniel said.
The Samsung Galaxy survived the shots from the AK-74, so Daniel remedied the situation with a blast from a shotgun.
The badly damaged phones were then finished off with an AK-47.

Just off hand, I’m thinking one 22LR is the new fitty cents or a dollar in the emerging dystopian market. maybe more.

I shot my flip cell phone when I retired. I had been on 24/7 every day for 30 years, even when on vacation. I never wanted to hear it ring again. Ruger Redhawk 44. Blew the phone to splinters! Very satisfying!

The AK-74 (Russian: Автомат Калашникова образца 1974 года or "Kalashnikov automatic rifle model 1974") is an assault rifle developed in the early 1970s, by Russian designer Mikhail Kalashnikov as the replacement for the earlier AKM (itself a refined version of the AK-47). It uses a smaller 5.45×39mm cartridge, replacing the 7.62×39mm chambering of earlier Kalashnikov-pattern weapons. The rifle first saw service with Soviet forces engaged in the 1979 Afghanistan conflict.[8] The head of the Afghan bureau of the Pakistani Inter-Services Intelligence claimed that the CIA paid $5,000 for the first AK-74 captured by the mujahadeen during the Soviet war in Afghanistan.[9] Presently, the rifle continues to be used by the majority of countries of the former USSR.

Wow, that eliminates the AK's only real advantage over the AR.

The destructive results are due to the AK74 bullet tumble. It just happened to be somewhat pointing forward when it lodged in the last one impacted. The AK74 is a superior tool tot he AK47, IMHO. The Bulgarian production 74’s are great tools, totally reliable. And the ammo is is still relatively cheap at Widener’s in case lots.

Does anybody think about the secondary shrapnel from the bullet shattering the body of the cell phone? And consider the environmental damage that results...
