This weekend, The Bride and I were out at one of our local veterans retreats.
Even though the moonlight was 80%, it was still dark, but we had a solution: a dozen or so of those landscaping solar lights! After a few hours in intense sunlight, they burned all night and provided just enough illumination to see about a 2-3 foot circle.

I have three solar lanterns. These lanterns were developed for, and used by, medical and volunteer people who go to third world countries where power is scarce or nonexistent. They are set out during the day and used at night and give off enough light to illuminate a room. There is a low and high switch on them. When these people leave the country they leave the lanterns with the people.
Two of these lanterns are general use. One is designed to concentrate light in one spot for close work or to read a book.
I keep a general one in a window where sunlight comes in so it's ready to use if I need it.
Okay. BTW, I need a Confederate flag to fly over the command post.
