Leftists are responsible for hundreds or thousands of deaths in the last fifty years that normally would not have occurred by their lax and wrongheaded treatment of violent criminals. Until the practice of keeping violent criminals in prison longer restarted about 20-30 years ago, many violent criminals were let out to commit violent crimes again.

One huge reason why the homicide rate has declined in the last twenty years is because they don't let out violent criminals as easily as they used to. But softhearted liberal judges many times still refuse to give violent criminals the harsh sentences they deserve.
