Hell, you don’t listen to Coast to CoastAM to believe everything they say (though I’m sure lots of them do!). You listen for the entertainment, for the “what-if” factor, and for the imagination of the guests :).
I personally like the ghost/demon and bigfoot shows the best.
I usually listen for the "WTF" factor.
I liked the shows where he would play the recording of screaming coming from some bottomless well out west. It sounded like tormented souls in Hell.
That’s why I always liked Art Bell. There were some really looney guests, but also some very thoughtful content; and Art was a great interviewer, and a great ‘straight-man’ to some of them, without ever being insulting or obvious.
I developed the bad habit of listening to radio through ear-plugs while I fell asleep, and Art Bell was always on in those days. George Noory was interesting for awhile, if often somewhat dense and absent-minded; but eventually he disappeared from our local stations as well. Now, it’s John Batchelor, on my favorite local talk station. I like Batchelor too, by the way. He’s also a very thoughtful interviewer, and I’ve learned about many things that I wouldn’t have found without his promotion of them.)
(And then there was Phil Hendry - brilliant! - but I could only take so much of him...)
I’d like to listen to this, when Art comes back. I saw this on his website:
“If you would like a dedicated device to play Internet radio, there are a couple choices out there. Look for the CC-WiFi or CC-Wifi 2 from C.Crane. Use promo code DARKMATTER to get a special gift and give us a credit.”
Does that mean that if I get a wifi radio, I can listen to this? We have wifi for the television now, since we ditched cable TV...
JT, embarrassingly ignorant about this stuff.
