Two Russian brothers were charged Sunday in the bizarre shooting at a fancy wedding party at the famed Waldorf Astoria hotel over the weekend.
The lavish affair turned bloody Saturday evening when Vladimir Gotlibovskys gun accidentally went off and the bullet grazed the head of a female guest, officials said.
Maya Rafailovich, who was grazed by a bullet at the Waldorf Astoria, is taken away in a gurney.
Three other guests were struck in their legs by flying marble, tile and glass from the ricocheting bullet, authorities said.

How am I not surprised that it’s Russians?
Oh, but I’ve been told by my betters here on FR that Russians are wonderful people - so much smarter than we Americans. Especially that handsome Putin dude.
Of course, living and working in NYC, we have a slightly different opinion of the disgusting, nouveau riche Russkies who pollute our town. Who buy American citizenships for their daughters by having them marry gay guys to the tune of $50,000 or so. I’ve seen it and lived it.
In before the “shotgun wedding” jokes?
This is NYC, so . . .
I worked with a Russian mechanical engineer. He escaped from the USSR. One day an air conditioner fell out of his office’s window (it was mounted about 6 ft above his desk) and fell on his desk, about half a foot from his head. Didn’t phase him. Said that after what he’d been through nothing much shocked him. He then went on to figure out where the weakness was in the support.
And your point?
WOW!
Care to Elaborate Miss Marmelstein? :)
I can think of a handful of Russians I know here in Kansas.
I didn't now there were so many in New York. I honestly thought that the ones that did come here were in California.
Hold my vodka and watch this.....
Take a trip to Brighton Beach....they don’t call it “little Odessa” (and not the one in Texas) for nothing..
Do you have any idea how many rounds you can carry in a cummerbund?
I am sure all NYC gun laws were obeyed...
A friend of a friend had her billionaire oligarch father buy her a husband so she could get citizenship in America - so she could be an actress. He paid $50,000 to a gay guy who married her. Is she working as an actress? No! She smokes dope and posts on Facebook every day.
As a kid in the late 70s, early 80s, when the first Soviets came over to NYC, they went straight on the dole. The healthcare system was overrun with them. They knew how to work the system.
Are there good Russians? Probably. But they are few and far between in Manhattan.
Even Solzenizen (pardon my spelling), given a home in America, dissed us in a disgusting manner.
Pretty much what I said.
At least she didn’t shoot someone at a wedding.
I grew up in NYC and use to drive a yellow cab. When I started out and was naive, the Ruskies all the time would rip me off. Drive them here or there, then they would take off without paying. The best was this one Russian bitch who had me drive her all over Manhattan for an hour making stops so she could make deliveries, then she told me to take her to Queens and right when we were on the entrance from 3rd ave with the plastic pylons she told me to stop that she accidentally dropped her glasses out the window so I stopped and *poof* she was gone like a bat out of hell and ran into a building. I actually chased her down almost a block, she went out the back door, until I realized I would be towed and it would cost more and I almost did because the traffic cops were all over my cab when I got back. Last time I ever picked up a Russian. They would cut their own mothers throat for a penny, Russians are absolute scum of the earth, they really are, 2nd only to Muslims. They are emotionless automatons that live to F people over. Crime is a religion to them.
You are so correct!
It's the gun's fault...it went off accidentally. Vlad had nothing to do with it. Damn guns.
“A Dothraki wedding without at least two deaths is considered a rather dull affair.” [/Game of Thrones]
There are a hell of a lot of Russians in New York.
My brother died on Okinawa for this Country. I was being prepared for the invasion of Japan at quartermaster the day WWII was ended. My uncle was in England in a bomber squadron when the US was bombing the Germans. I had a cousin in WWII. One of my best friends overseas was a Russian from a Russian community in NY. There were many Russians and/or children of Russian immigrants involved in wars for the US. There are no more Russian crooks than Italian, Greek, or other heritage. If you hate Russians it must be some kind of complex from some experience that went south so to speak.
