The dinosaurs are back, and they're looking more bad-ass than ever.
Jurassic World opening 22 years after Steven Spielberg's first Jurassic Park stomped into theaters is tracking to open to $125 million or higher in its three-day North American debut, one of the best showings in recent times. It begins rolling out Thursday night before landing in a total of 4,273 theaters on Friday, the widest release in Universal's history.
Overseas, the tentpole opens in 66 markets, including China. And it's getting the widest-ever day-and-date release in Imax houses, or more than 800 locations. In North America, even a $100 million would be a rousing victory for Universal. And globally, it should open well north of $300 million.

Set two decades after the events in Jurassic Park, Jurassic World features a fully operational dinosaur theme park on the island of Isla Nublar. Pratt plays a skilled dinosaur trainer, while Howard plays the operations manager whose niece and nephew come to visit just as a new hybrid dinosaur, Indominus rex, is unleashed.

Same here. I find it very difficult to respect the opinion of anyone who looks and carries themselves like most of them do. They see the world in a different way than most of us.
I find it hilarious when movie critics criticize the plot in a movie like this.
Like anyone cares.
Actually, I kind of prefer the setting in this one, where a park is successfully up and running (at least until whatever happens, happens). It’ll be cool to see how the dinosaurs and other extinct creatures of the time are exhibited. Promos show them behind large glass walls like in modern zoos.
It’s just a model...

His career is done.
I am just not interested in yet another CGI extremely heavy movie.
I’m tired of CGI.
Spoiler: They break out and run amuck, and at one point they put their big snoots right up next to some terrified humans who are holding their breath, but the humans get away. Except for one jerk, who gets horribly eaten to the great satisfaction of the audience.
Hmmm..mm.. That sounds suspiciously like the original “Jurassic Park” where that exact same thing happened.
But, did they stay on the surface long enough for a mosquito to get a bite? That is where they got the DNA for the original dinosaurs.
We all cheered for the shark in JAWS II.
Reminds me of an old cartoon from 45 years ago. Two knights in heavy armor, with lances and swords, ride up to a castle and one says to the other...”Isn’t this that castle with the MEAN DOG?”
LOL...the shark had it going on up until the end...
I would love to see it on that humongous screen myself. Will it be out on IMAX? Pardon my ignorance, but I cant remember the last time I went to a movie theater. Might actually have been for JP-3! Lol!

I will be seeing it in 3D on a giant IMAX screen with a fantastic sound system in Reading, Mass. (note: subwoofers in every seat. I’m 52 but had an absolute blast watching Pacific Rim there a couple years ago)

Looking forward to seeing Jaws when it returns soon to the big screen for it’s 40th anniversary also! (unfortunately not at IMAX though)
Thanks. I think I might actually give that a chance here in NYC. Haven't been to a movie theater in a few decades.
Still think they could have picked up extra millions if the dinos had eaten those two kids...
