Christopher Lee: The real James Bond
I was attached to the SAS from time to time but we are forbidden former, present, or future to discuss any specific operations. Lets just say I was in Special Forces and leave it at that. People can read into that what they like.
Christopher Lee was Ian Flemings cousin. Both were distantly related to Charlemagne - and Lee, in his 80s, released a heavy metal album named after his regal ancestor.
Christopher Lee has an illustrious military past. As well as fighting for the SAS (then known as the Special Operations Executive or SOE), he also volunteered to fight for Finland in the Winter War prior to WW2, during WW2 fought in North Africa, and saw the concentration camps first hand. After WW2, he spent time hunting Nazi war criminals.

A GREAT “Richelieu” in Richard Lester’s “Three Musketeers” and “Four Musketeers,” and a wonderful character role in “Serial” as Martin Mull’s future boss. He fought in WW II in the Battle of Britain, then as an actor auditioned for a role in the movie “The Battle of Britain,” only to be told he was “too tall.”

Oh nooze... Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing were my favorite actors. :-(

Reminds me of a story where Peter Lorre supposedly quipped at Bela Lugosi's funeral: "Do you think we should drive a stake through his heart just in case?".

Mandarin Chinese? Huh.... Now begin to wonder if Jon Huntsman ever conversed with him. Just to keep up on the language, ya’ know.

I also remember him as the host of “Classic Monsters Month” in October 1993 on the SciFi Channel. Wonderful commentary.

He was a pretty good Count Dracula, though he played the role too many times.
