The cause of an early morning fire north of San Diego was an electrocuted bird falling from an active power line
A bird carrying a snake in its talons struck power lines north of San Diego, sparking a hillside fire just west of The Merge.
San Diego Police arrived to the location on Dunhill Street near the intersection of Interstates 5 and 805 just before 6 a.m.
Flames were burning very close to businesses including the General Atomics building, officials said.
Officers called in San Diego Fire-Rescue crews who contained the fire within an hour.
Fire officials initially told NBC 7 a bird with a snake in its mouth was electrocuted on a power line and fell to the ground, sparking the fire. A photo released by officials later shows the snake in the hawk's grasp.
"A hawk that hit the high voltage power line, caught fire, and fell to the ground," SD Fire-Rescue spokesperson Lee Swanson said in a written release.
There were no structures damaged and no evacuations ordered.
This area of San Diego is home to many companies in the region's biochemical industry.
You’ve been reading about our increasing crime problem, right?
If we hadn’t just signed a lease...
I will be spending my birthday next month in NYC, but I probably won’t do anything special, other than eating the special dinner Mrs. ArGee always cooks. The daughters might come by also.
You’ll feel better if you can get to your appointments and see if they can do anything to help with your spine.
I had a box of books, too, from Ignatius Press. A delayed birthday present to myself.
Need to get new glasses. Could have sworn you typed “Easy Rider edition” there....
The connection with armadillos there escapes me.
I was wondering the same thing.
No connection I know that I’m aware.
Just commenting about my fading vision.
Sort of posting out loud...my bad.
The stuff we post has to connect with something?
That’s gonna be confusing.
If we’re going to start setting such rigid rules I might as well go floss my toes right now.
Are we on topic?
What was that middle thing?
Why do we have to floss our toes?
And where are the destructions for it?
I’ve been struggling with the amount of bills I have, and I’m thinking very seriously of taking this computer back to Aaron’s and getting something smaller and cheaper. That $25 more a month that I am paying (over what I had been paying) is enough to break the bank.
So one day next week, when I feel half-way decent, I will take this back and get a smaller something. I’m pretty sure this money thing is why I’m not sleeping well. If I can reduce the payments by a total of $50, it may be enough to help me breathe.
The question is this: What do I get that will be smaller physically, but still allow me to do the things I do? With my 3T slave, I don’t need much. But one thing is sure...Firefox has GOT to go. I can’t get the stuff off the 3T without the reversion to IE, and then all it does is keep closing itself. And that is not going to work.
Would I be better off getting a Mac?
Oh well...at least it didn't cost me anything.
I doubt a Mac will be cheaper to rent. They’re much more expensive to buy.
What software is a must to use the files on the 3T external drive?
Insta-what? Not sure what that is.
Does that sing when it arrives?
Not sure....think it was a plate of really fast food that clipped me...
When I goes out to Aaron’s and puts in your zipper code thingie I don’t get lots of options and none of ‘em is a Mac. The HP 15.6” Windows 8.1 Laptop looks to be the lowest on the dollar-evolution scale and should do what you want, expecially if you can get them to not put Total Defense Security on it.
I don’t see any good tablet options.
If you could get one, I’d suggest looking into a Chrome book except you don’t like Googles knowing what you’re up to.
Warren Wilhelm Jr. has the fix just like ol' Davie Dinkins did. Don't make any arrests and miraculously the crime will go down.
Statisticly..
Where to? I can help move the piano.
Post 3960. In celebration of the move of course.
