Cruz is such a Statesman that voted to give Obama special powers in a classified bill the people are allowed to read.
Cruz, although he misses more votes than most senators, bothered to show up in favor of the TPA bill that gives Obama the power to destroy what is left of our country in TPP negotiations.
He can SAY he is in favor of limited government and decry what Obama has done, but when he votes he is evidently OK with bills that give Obama powers most Presidents have never had.
Cruz BETRAYED us all. I don’t care what he says. I care what he does. I would respect him more if he said something I didn’t like and then he did it. At least then I would know I can trust what he says.
Ted Cruz cannot be trusted. Labeling it a vote for free trade is typical political spin. What he voted for was to have the Senate give up it’s powers to hide a secret bill that gives the President special powers. Sound like Obama Care all over again? Evidently Ted Cruz is fine with that.
I’ll ask you the same thing I’ve asked two others here: If Cruz isn’t for you, who is ? Who is the great statesman that you’re supporting for President ? They seem not to be able to answer the question.
incorrect. it would only be a precedent if the court ruled on it. to date, no court has yet to even allow a case to be heard, let alone ruled on the merits involving 0bama and his eligibility requirements
Now if only Cruz can synthesize a computer generated Hawaii birth certificate, he will be 100% in the same boat as Obummer and therefore 100% eligible.
0bama is not eligible as he was born with kenyan and british citizenship. if we are to believe the forged birth certificate, then he was american by being born on the soil. unfortunately, there has been no evidence uncovered to substantiate his claim of being born in hawaii. to the contrary, the only piece of evidence, the certificate of live birth jpeg, has been shown to be a forgery by members of law enforcement. no court has taken up the task be pressing the matter... to their shame.
I think Ted Cruz is very intelligent, a very good speaker, a prize winning debater and a fine conservative. My problem with Cruz is, he looks like senator McCarthy, does not have the disarming smile of a Reagan, or Rubio or Walker. In other words his likability ratings are keeping him from ascending to top 5. On top of that democrats hate him as much if not more than governor Palin. If he wins nomination, the Rats will come out of woodwork to vote for Hillary.
the dems want Cruz to win the nomination. the media will paint him as red meat for the right, in an effort to insure the nomination. if he wins the primary, and has not secured the green light from the SCOTUS, then there is a VERY high probability he will be disqualified the week following the primary. that would leave the gop without a candidate and any runner up will not have the momentum of the first.
anyone that supports Cruz should want it resolved before he gets close to the primary. avoiding it only reveals what's already known... TCruz is not eligible as he was born a citizen of US, Canadian, and Cuban.
He is eligible. This Cruz birther crap is pure trollbait.
Sorry to ruin your iPad...but I have no control over size of a picture posting. The host sight decides the size, I am guessing.
dear FRiend upchuck,
the pictures are obtained from other publications such as WA Post etc.
I do not know how to control size of posting on FR.
All I can obtain is address of the picture.
And thanks for all the pings about chairman Gowdy!
There’s lots of Cruz and Walker threads... two of our best. What we need to watch for are the negative stories about Cruz and Walker that a slipped in... That’s where the damage happens... research shows people can hear twenty positive things and one negative - and they’ll remember the negative. Trolls understand how this works. Watch for the negative stories...
Remember Reagans 11th commandment...let’s unite and start moving the dial in the other direction...
As Jim Robinson has posted many times, there is absolutely no freedom or right to post any article that he (and his moderators)deem comes from a source he dislikes or an author he disagrees with, EVEN IF THE PURPOSE OF POSTING A LINK OR EXCERPT IS TO CREATE DISCUSSION TO RIDICULE OR CRITICIZE THE ARTICLE.
He relies on the proposition that it is his site and he pays for it and so he can control the content.
The fact is that he DOES control the site and its content so if anyone has an article he deems unworthy, he can, and does, abort it.
Pure fiction.
He won every time he ran for Governor, right up until he decided 14 years was enough and didn't run.
You might want to check the floor and see if anything else fell out of your ass when you pulled that "factoid" out.
If you right click the picture you can bring up the info on it, which will include the size. Then post with new sizes. < img src=”picture url” Height=”size desired” Width=”size desired” > On the big ones I usually divide the original sizes by 3 or 4.
I favor Gov Walker at this stage. Has great conservative accomplishments as governor of Wisconsin. Which other governor had the balls to fight unions like walker did? Then he survived 2 recall elections in BLUE Wisconsin. That clearly shows me he can win nationally. A republican winning statewide in Wisconsin is lot harder than winning in Texas.
However I also like Cruz, Rubio, Jindal, Paul & Trump.
All for completely different reasons. There are positive and negative aspects to all of those. Walker on the other hand has very few negatives.
Original with the sizes divided by 4.
It is only a controversy in your head.
being a US citizen at birth is not the issue and not disputed. being born as a citizen of canada and cuba as well... that's the problem along with your misunderstanding of the Constitution. the eligibility requirement for POTUS is not just citizen, but NATURAL BORN citizen. there is a difference and a reason for using it.
the vast majority of Americans know nothing of the distinction between being born a US citizen and being a natural born citizen. this is due to the vast majority qualifying as natural born... that being on the soil to two citizen parents. they just have no experience with foreign citizenships.
the Constitution of the United States describes the requirements for many federal positions. ALL of them specify that the person obtaining the position MUST BE a US citizen. that's it... just a citizen... for all but one position. the office of the president. for that position, the founders specifically used 'natural born citizen'. why?
there are two main reasons, as discussed in the federalist papers. the first being they wanted to insure, at least by birth, the person assuming the position would not have split allegiances with another country. secondly, they wanted to insure no future king of england could become president of the united states. they had just come through a bloody revolution, after all, and no way did they want england to get her hooks back into the country.
so what does that mean? the founders used the term 'natural born' to insure no future king could assume the office. this would require both parents being US citizens... which, until bjclinton, meant you could hold no other citizenship or claim to citizenship to another country. it would also mean the person would have to be born on US soil to avoid citizenship claims via the soil.
if you don't believe the two citizen requirement, test it this way:
if william and kate flew to NYC and she had her first child in a NY hospital... then flew back to england, the child would be an American citizen as well as the future king of england. at the age of 20, he moves to NY and at 34, runs for president... and wins. the day after his inauguration, events unfold such that he becomes king of england. this was only possible as both parents were still citizens of england at his birth. if they were US citizens, they would have had to renounce their british citizenships and any claims to the throne... removing the possibility of their child becoming king.
your ignorance of the Constitution and the reasons for the eligibility requirements are astounding.
Oh, go have some bBQ.
Thanks. But please do keep up questioning Cruz’s eligibility. :-)
1. You are using a classic tactic that too many people have used that has got us terrible untrustworthy candidates like McCain. Rather than deal with the fact that Cruz talks great and then betrays us you try to talk about something and someone else.
2. Some folks are talking about Walker and I think he has done some good things in fighting mandatory union membership and he has fought over and over again to show that conservative principles and less government can take a state budget deficit and turn it into a surplus.
Those are not bad things and most candidates can’t claim that. The thing that does concern me about Walker is that years ago I think he said he would consider legalizing illegals here, but this year he has been saying he is against any form of Amnesty. It’s not as bad as Cruz saying one thing and then voting another because Walker never voted for Amnesty, but it concerns me a lot and over the next couple months Walker will have to prove to me he can be trusted.
I’ll consider Walker and I’ll hear a few other folks out as well like Jindal. I don’t care if Jindal’s numbers are not as high right now because we are 17 months from the election. I have watched him for a couple years and he has done what he said are his principles.
Jindal has been 100% pro-life, has fought for DOMA, has a 100% NRA rating, lowered LA taxes repeatedly, has pushed for school vouchers, and advocated for a bill allowing businesses to not lose their licenses if they refuse service to same sex couples or groups if a religious objection exists. I have not looked at him that much, but I’ll consider him. A lot of democrats in LA hate him and the unions hate him too so that cant be bad.
3. Main thing is I don’t have to fall into your logic trap that gets us candidates like McCain. We have over 20 candidates. Voting for the “least ethically offensive person” has gotten us nowhere in leadership.
I think it is an absolute joke when people compare Cruz to Reagan. It is absurd and insulting to Reagan. Even when Reagan did something you wouldn’t like you couldn’t say he had lied to you. Cruz has already betrayed us and his so-called principles. I want someone that I don’t necessarily agree with 100%, but instead someone I mostly agree with that I fell can be trusted to DO WHAT THEY SAY.
Voting to give Obama special powers in an unconstitutionally classified bill an hour after he spoke about how Obama can’t be trusted tells me that Cruz cannot be trusted. What he SAYS does not matter because I don’t know if he is telling the truth or not. The rest is just spin and liars spin. Cruz cannot be trusted so next candidate please.
How can I vote for a guy that is OK with giving a traitor like Obama special powers and also has so little backbone that he doesnt even put up a fight about the government illegally hiding legislation from the people and ALL members of congress?
4. If you want to vote for a guy who is more into theatrics for 12-hour speech-a-thons that are designed to garner Look-At-Me publicity you can vote for Cruz. That is just theatrics by a guy who decided years ago he was going to run for President.
When things actually mattered and it was time to either be a Leader and fight illegal classifying of bills and stop Obama from forcing another nightmare on us or betray us by voting against his so-called conservative principles Cruz chose to betray us. That is a FACT and anything else is just the typical spin we have all enabled by supporting the most popular person we can sort of stand.
I think if we all acted more on principle and looked for leadership and integrity truly better people would rise through and our country would prosper. I think we all need to look closer at non-top five folks. To me it almost feels like a top-five are being forced on us and anybody else is “a joke” so say the media pundits.
By eliminating those not good enough I pray we are getting closer to a truly good and respectable candidate. I think our country is desperate for leadership right now. This time after Obama is very similar to the time after Carter. We have to get this right or we will have failed our children and our grandchildren.
I actually feel guilty I've survived. Since my main reason for coming here is information and not some ill founded belief that I have something irreplaceable to say, I don't feel that guilty.
