With Republicans in Wisconsin taking him off the chairmanship of the WEDC I think your assumption is probably right. I think they’re going after Walker to take him down, and they got the Republican legislators in Wisconsin to do their dirty work. Not that the governor is completely without blame, but the fact the state GOP turned on him that fast is pretty fishy to me.
The comments on liberal sites linked to various articles are very revealing. The left is timing the blow up of this in the hope it can deal a lethal blow if Walker is on the ticket. They don’t want to inflict the real damage until it’s too late.
As for Rove, I think he is supporting Walker. American Crossroads, his Super Pac, gave millions to Walker’s Governor’s race. As you know, it has been reported that they are talking once again to the Walker Presidential campaign. Expect to hear more about this once Walker announces.
The Republican Party will take him down one way or another. I believe that to be an absolute requirement for the GOPe.
That's not the question at all. The question is whether the unending political war against Walker in Wisconsin by his political enemies there will succeed. Some here want it to succeed. My take is that if a reasonably unbiased investigation shows corruption, then Walker should be held responsible. So far there has been an audit with some findings that warrant further review, but no evidence of any laws broken.
