Senator Whitehouse: Use the RICO law against climate “Deniers”
WUWT ^ | 6/4/2015 | Eric Worrall

According to Whitehouse;

Fossil fuel companies and their allies are funding a massive and sophisticated campaign to mislead the American people about the environmental harm caused by carbon pollution.

Their activities are often compared to those of Big Tobacco denying the health dangers of smoking. Big Tobacco’s denial scheme was ultimately found by a federal judge to have amounted to a racketeering enterprise.

The Big Tobacco playbook looked something like this: (1) pay scientists to produce studies defending your product; (2) develop an intricate web of PR experts and front groups to spread doubt about the real science; (3) relentlessly attack your opponents.

Thankfully, the government had a playbook, too: the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act, or RICO. In 1999, the Justice Department filed a civil RICO lawsuit against the major tobacco companies and their associated industry groups, alleging that the companies “engaged in and executed — and continue to engage in and execute — a massive 50-year scheme to defraud the public, including consumers of cigarettes, in violation of RICO.”

Whitehouse is a putz from a failed state. RI would blow away if it weren’t for fed subsidies. What is the unemployment rate in Woonsocket?

The Climate Alarmists playbook looked something like this: (1) pay scientists to produce studies defending your product; (2) develop an intricate web of PR experts and front groups to spread doubt about the real science; (3) relentlessly attack your opponents.

Fixed it. Sounds like how the Global Warming industry works.

And government scientists conspiring among themselves to spread fraudulent or weak “science” to garner grant money isn’t a racket?

How about a RICO lawsuit against the RAT’s and the phony scientists for hoisting this crap on the American public?

Should it not be the other way around since there are so many cases out there of "climate scientist" fudging data for propaganda purposes??????

You have to be brain dead to be a democrat.

Al Gore with his carbon credit scheme is actually a much better, and bigger, target for this sort of thing.

RICO would better suit the massaged data “scientist” of “Climategate”.

This is so silly... governments worldwide have squandered hundreds of billions of dollars on farcical studies from faux “scientists”. They have spent even more on ridiculous “green energy” projects that are nothing but a drain on the economy. In contrast Anthony Watts who runs the most viewed skeptic website in the world I think still does it on a shoestring budget with little if any outside support.

The reason the skeptics are winning is because they have the truth on their side. The entity that is the head of this “vast conspiracy” is the sun. I am not sure how we are going to punish the sun for not going along with lefty fantasies.

RICO would be far more appropriate for Fast and Furious but who is going to charge every FedMob LEA in existence with racketeering?

-------------------------------------------------------

Let's call Fast and Furious what it is. State-sponsored terrorism.

On this side of the border it's violations of the RICO Act. In Mexico and Honduras it's state-sponsored terrorism.

What else would you call heavily arming international criminal syndicates within a foreign country wherein that country is in a death struggle with those syndicates?

Especially when it goes beyond thousands of assault rifles to include grenades, RPGs, shoulder fired rockets, anti-aircraft guns, night vision equipment, body armor and special deals to bring their drugs onto our soil with legal impunity?

Not to mention that the rip crew that killed BP Agent Brian Terry was there with DEA and FBI assistance and approval to attack and kill a rival cartel's smuggling crew.

Let's not leave out the DEA laundering millions of dollars for the drug cartels by setting up bank accounts for them that they otherwise couldn't do.

It's organized, it is spread through every Federal LEA and it violates numerous domestic laws and numerous statutes and treaties that deal with foreign nations. Yet none of it has been officially sanctioned. It's the FedGov acting like mafiosa.

0bama, Holder and Hillary Clinton are all deeply involved in this and it is state-sponsored terrorism. These criminal thugs are dragging our country down to the level of Tehran and Pyongyang.

--------------------------------------------------------

I'm getting tired of hearing Federal criminals bloviate about private citizens needing to be rounded up and put in prison.

Woonsocket has been in the dumps economically since the textile mills all moved to Dixie (and then overseas). And nothing much has replaced the defense industry in RI since the Cold War ended. Who’d want to invest in a state with corruption levels that would make a Fourth World nation blush? As for Whitehouse, he’s a jackass—and obviously trolling for $$ from enviros.
