Pizzeria in Israel ‘Sprinkles Marijuana Instead of Oregano’

Israeli police have arrested the owner of a pizzeria in the city of Holon who sprinkled a drug known as Mr. Nice Guy on a pizza order belonging to two policemen, The Times of Israel reported.
The pizza peppered with the drug, which reportedly turned out to be synthetic marijuana, left the two policemen in the Tel Aviv area hospitalized for dizziness, vomiting and hallucinations.
I knew the order was placed by police officers, but the officer who called it in seemed cool plus he told me to add whatever toppings I wanted. So, instead of oregano, I sprinkled some Mr. Nice Guy, the pizzeria owner confessed to investigating police several days later.
A spokesperson for the police confirmed that remains from the pizza have been sent to a lab for testing but results have not yet been released.

Sounds like an excellent candidate for the Einstein of the Year Award.

It wasn’t marijuana, it was designer drugs: “synthetic marijuana.” Think bath salts.

"Synthetic marijuana" has a chemical structure that puts it in the cannabinoid family with THC, but can have very different effects.

In 2011, Mr. Nice Guy and other synthetic cannaboids, which became increasingly popular in Israel in recent years, were banned;
they had previously been approved by the health and welfare committee in the Knesset.
Now, I ask you ... how many of us would rebel .. in our own little way .. if they had suddenly reversed the "Right On Red" driving rule ... which I'm sure has been part of a few accidents, but because it is legal, gets little or no notice ?
RIGHT .... we'd all continue to challenge the authority
The pizza guy said the one ordering "sounded cool" and had left it to the shop to season whatever way he wanted ...

I can't go along with the idea that synthetic cannabinoids - even when perfectly legal - count as "seasoning."
