Translucent, then transparent at the thinest edges. It leaches the calcium out. It's rare, but has been seen in people who use peroxide too frequently as a tooth cleaning material or mouthwash in the stronger solutions. 8% of less is the concentration of peroxide that is approved for teeth whitening, but some peroxides are as high as 44% and people think that if a little is good a lot is better.
