No clue. What does it do? It pops up an alphabetically ordered list of all your software ... works just like "All Programs" in XP, Vista, or 7. Running XP games on Win10 will likely be a problem. I'm not much of a gamer, so I don't know much about that.

Should I keep going for a little while longer just to learn Chrome or jump over to Firefox? Can't venture an opinion there, as I've never used Firefox. Been a Chrome user for several years now, and it beats the heck out of Explorer (I utilized Safari for a while, and kind of liked it, but I understand that Apple is discontinuing it.)

Most XP games I was able to run in Windows 7. Had to select run as an administrator then run in the compatibility mode.

All I want to know is will it run Flash Player without crashing all the time? The flash on my windows 8 cannot run a video without crashing multiple times before it finally runs.

Detailed steps, please.
I had to finally download some from Windows and it took several tries. Never could get it to download on another computer so a pile of games have gone to waste.

Thanks.
Not big hairy games, just simple ones.

I have no idea, really. I have a few that I could try ... Of course, they have two months before official release. That’s plenty of time for mischief.

First time I've seen a formal date of release... And the wild ride begins, LOLOL!
Clicked on reserve my copy and download when available, but will take some time for the "dust to settle" before I install.

Anybody else see this? It didn't show up on my machine. I run XP. I will do just that for as long as possible.

I don’t know. I was planning on just ignoring it for now.

I just got notice.
I didn't see an option I want, I do not want a block of apps on screen.

When I logged into my Windows 7 computer this morning there was a new task bar icon. Something about Windows 10 upgrade. Anybody else see this? Yep I got one also, on each of my Win7 machines.

Any word on how long the free upgrade will be available? I have enough on my plate this summer - dont need to add upgrading every 7/8 machine to 10. I believe the free upgrade from Win7 or 8.1 is available for one year from the official release date, so end of July 2016.
It does not apply to Win 8.0, BTW. You have to get to 8.1 before you can upgrade to 10.
And the upgrade doesn't apply to WinXP.

They told me I should upgrade to Windows 7 or better, so I installed Linux. LOL! Good one.

If you don't mind the lack of security patches, and the resulting ever-increasing vulnerabilities, you can run XP literally for as long as you like. I know people who are still running Windows 95 and 98, and I have one friend who claims he has mission-critical software that only runs on Win 3.11.
Just be prepared for the day when you have to rebuild it. Make sure you have restorable image backups. Not just your original XP install disks -- those won't get you the Windows Updates. As of now Microsoft will still let you download Windows Updates for XP -- not any new ones, because there aren't any, but all the old ones.
But someday they'll take those offline. So be prepared and make full image backups of your system disk and every so often, get a spare disk and do a test "restore" to prove that your backup is still viable.
You'd be amazed how many people make backups but don't test them regularly to make sure they work.

I just installed “Bejeweled 3” on my Win10 (Build 10122) machine, from CD. I believe that was a WindowsXP era game. No fuss, no silliness. It just installed and runs.

It is crucial to me that all my old software continues to work.
8.1 will be supported until 2023, probably longer than I'll be around.
