MASON COUNTY, MI Two women fighting over the waffle maker in a Mason County hotel apparently ignited a major disruption over the holiday weekend inside the hotel's buffet-style breakfast area, police say.
A Mason County Sheriff's Office deputy stood by as 30 people were ordered by the property manager to pack their bags and leave the America's Best Value Inn, 5095 U.S. 10, in Pere Marquette Township.
Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole said it allegedly all started over the hotel's waffle maker around 9 a.m. on Sunday, May 24.
"It sounded like one lady walked up and asked the other lady if she was in line for the waffle maker. She didn't answer, so this lady started to make her waffle. The other confronted her and said, 'That was my waffle' and the other lady said, 'No, it's mine' and then it went down hill from there," Cole said.
Deputies were dispatched to the hotel and found "a large group of people arguing over the waffle maker," he said.
"The property manager asked that everyone be kicked out of the hotel. All parties involved were ordered to collect their items and they left," Cole said.
No one was injured and no one was arrested for the commotion. The 30 or so people who were ordered to leave are from Chicago and Canton, Mich., Cole said.
"There was just a lot of yelling and screaming, but no one was assaulted," he said. "They were all asked to leave and the deputy stood by while they did that."
Lol...well played!
“’That was my waffle’ and the other lady said, ‘No, it’s mine’ and then it went down hill from there,” Cole said.

Yeah, waffles frequently have that effect on me too.
Generally true! However, it can depend on the region. If one is in, say, central Kansas - particularly if the business is adjacent to a military base (I've traveled to Ft. Riley), the risk is much lower. Near urban areas? Never! Like you, I'll pay extra and stay in a hotel.
where my sprinkles at!!!!
Wafflemakers don’t produce waffles by themselves. Obviously someone had to put batter in the wafflemaker and left for the moment until the waffle was ready.
“It’s mine. Givesmedat waffle, I found it”. Her logic probably applies to any cars found parked on the street where she lives.
In Texas, we build a fence around the place and park them in the front yard in tall grass so the likes of her can’t “find” them. /s
Mason county isn’t exactly big city. In fact the fact that this sort of thing happened at a motel says these were idiots passing through from elsewhere.
Waffle-maker disputes at inner-city buffet bars can have downright dangerous outcomes...
Lakeesha say, ‘Yo bedder not touch my waffle iron or you be wearin’ it.’
Good point! And I think the fact that the owner was able to have the local sheriff round up the 30 miscreants and have them ejected from the motel without any - shall we say, riots - is a testimony to it being in a more civilized locale.
Of course, I wouldn't be surprised if a civil rights lawsuit against the establishment follows at a later date from the group; you know, for being "disrespected"...
There are a bunch of motels along the main drag there. Ludington is on the Lake Michigan shore and and gets lots of vacationers.
When I go to places like that I generally go to a campground out in the woods.
Im thinking that that feral mama eat sprinkles by the container load...
that table was not made out of paper mache...was it???

A bit of waffling going on there ...
Amen! Amen! Amen!
