Leftists are upset about what they view as a double standard with respect to the Baltimore/Ferguson affair and the recent Waco gang shootout. They’re right, too – there sure is a double standard.
And, as usual, it’s their own.
Consider, for example, an Associated Press piece by one Jesse J. Holland titled “Differing perceptions of Waco, Baltimore bothering some.” Holland starts out writing that the “prevailing images of protests in Baltimore and Ferguson, Missouri, over police killings of black men were of police in riot gear, handcuffed protesters, tear gas and mass arrests. The main images of a fatal gun battle between armed bikers and police in Waco, Texas, also showed mass arrests – carried out by nonchalant-looking officers sitting around calm bikers on cellphones.” The idea is that while the black thugs in Baltimore and Ferguson received harsh treatment and coverage, the primarily white thugs in Waco were, relatively speaking, handled with kid gloves.

Well, the difference was in Baltimore the cops stood down, and the riots went on for days. In Waco, the cops unloaded on the crowd, and the thing was over in minutes.
Law enforcement in Waco laid down a brief but merciless fusillade.
No surprise that the surviving biker gangsters sat down and cooperated.
In Baltimore the cops were ordered to get injured — and not fight back.
Anyone got any stats on blacks, whites, Asians, and Hispanics committing crimes and their % of the population please?

There IS a double standard:
Black rioters had robust, national backing from professional Grievance Mongers, the Prez, the national media, and the US Justice Dept. Accordingly, they were left free to wander screaming, given “Space to Destroy”. Virtually NONE were shot while they were on their rampage of destruction.
Meanwhile:
The bikers had no media or Gummint allies, had no immense propaganda machine backing them up. Accordingly, the police felt they had a free hand and shot them down. SWAT team members armed with military rifles equipped with optical sites shot them in the head and neck.
They didn’t have a chance, and no quarter was given.
Please accept my apology. I have been working on several project and have been out of the loop. What actually happened at Waco. I thought two biker gangs went at it.

That appears to be pretty much what happened, though all the facts are far from yet being available.
However, a single biker web site claimed that all nine killed in the Waco shootout were killed in the parking lot by LEOs who hosed them down with fully automatic machine guns, and a few nutter tinfoil-hat echo chamber type websites picked that up, and then several posts from said websites were made on FR, and several FREEPERS in love with unproven, anti-police conspiracy theories jumped on that bandwagon.
Said Grievance Mongers have been pushing a narrative in social media that unlike in Ferguson, etc., there were NO "mass arrests" in Waco - because the perps were white. When someone points out the 170+ arrests and seizure of all related motorcycles, various criminal charges filed - you know, the actual facts of the case, they ignore the information or claim it is misdirection provided by the "right-wing media".
I truly wonder what color the sky is on their world.
Sure sounds as if the left is bemoaning the fact that the Baltimore PD didn’t lay out a half-dozen or so black protestors before moving in. Even if they aren’t, it’s a good idea to pin this notion on them and paint them as racist for it.
Hey, they wrote the rules, the good guys should play by them.
