FULL TITLE: 19 Kids and Counting taken off the air by TLC in wake of revelation that son Josh molested young girls and his parents Jim Bob and Michelle covered it up
19 Kids and Counting has been taken off the air.
The show has not been officially cancelled at this time, but has been removed from the network's lineup.
The move comes one day after Josh Duggar, the oldest son of the family featured on the program, admitted that he molested young girls when he was a teenager.
Making matters worse, it was also revealed that his parents worked to cover up this scandal.

I agree. They knew about his abuse and still chose to make a series for TV on their wholesome family value-family. I wonder if any of the victims received any counseling.
and not like he did it once he did it what 5 times? Sickening.
“I bet the apple didnt fall far from the tree.”
Are you claiming that Jim Bob, just because he wanted to protect his son from the media whores who are trying to bring down his family show and the biggest source of his income, is also a molester?
ROFL That is ok even so he is a Rapist, he is a Democrat and that is accepted. Now if Bubba was a Christian Conservative all hell break loose.
“The father is the one who took his son to the police the minute he found out. It had been handled long ago by them.”
Actually, the father took his son to the police a year after. That is the fact. And the police officer, apparently, is in jail for — child pornography. I have not confirmed the latter part.
Paul was addressing Christians who were potential litigants in secular Roman courts: grown men suing grown men over broken contracts, theft, etc.
His point: a grown Christian man who has a grievance against another grown Christian man should settle matters within the church, with the implication that the church might excommunicate a Christian who wronged another Christian: a fate worse than paying restitution in a secular lawsuit.
Do you know who requested the info.Thanks.
InTouch magazine.
Exactly!
So I guess we have to find out who led them on this road.
people have been having recreational sex far before 1920.
Apparently a lot of the details have been out in various fan chatrooms for a while. That’s how a lot of entertainment journalists source their stories - following leads that sound more convincing than usual.
They sure have, but back then it was called prostitution or “adventurism.”
It upsets me when 4 year olds are sexually abused, regardless of the political ideology or religion of the abuser.
I do care who the victims are. Think about it- this young man’s sisters/other unnamed victims who have been basically brainwashed into being “submissive” have had to live with the abuse perpetrated by their brother.
The way the press has revealed how the situation has been handled by the mother & father leaves many questions to be answered.
Did ALL the victims of this 14 year old’s foray into sexual experimentation receive counseling too? I’m being facetious here when I say this or were they just shuffled off to a lecture on modesty by their mammy & pappy on modesty while their big bro’ molester was sent to a construction site?
I think it’s not clear what type of counseling the victims received and to have this happen to them is certainly the double yoke of being a female in this household- I think it’s a hard burden to carry-being female and being told their role in the world is to be submissive because being submissive is a good thing according to the Duggar’s beliefs proselytized by that fraud, sexual predator William Gothard,Jr.who has by all accounts NEVER even married-never had a conjugal partner & never married.
On the legal side & how the law handled this I think it speaks volumes of the Duggar family to have him not prosecuted . Imho the mother & father to their credit DID report him most likely to scare him straight but not knowing Arkansas law & his exact age it’s hard to tell what exactly he SHOULD have been prosecuted . It also appears to me the father figured it could all be handled in a “private manner” by the Springdale AK police because of the father’s personal garuntee (sp?) and by his standing in the community that his son take the alternative road to “counseling & treatment as dictated by his father to resolve the problem. And obviously the mother and father
felt everything was “ok” & the situation resolved prior to their signing on to do this series. And this shows a appalling lack of hindsight & foresight when the parents signed on. Didn’t they even think about their own personal history?
I used to watch the show because it was a look at a diff type of lifestyle & everything seemed so wholesome and I took it at that-neither endorsing their religious views nor negating those views.
If this Josh Duggar person was well into his teen (say 16-17) yrs old well hell for that matter -anywhere from 7 yrs old & was touching his sisters, etc. then truly there is a problem here -this is deviant behavior, and I stress DEVIANT BEHAVIOR but again, it appears there is no real timeline of events because there seem to be conflicting reports.
From what I have read on the internet I found out that someone in the family or an outsider wrote a note about what happened and placed it in a book owned by the family and the book was loaned to either a friend of the family or an extended family member and that is how this was reported to the msm.
Josh Duggar has hurt these girls for life just as you say- & I agree with you. I hardly think the family would allow these girls to speak publicly either- it’s not in their repertoire and this is what it makes it so all the more devastating.
I really liked your post because I could feel your anguish and it’s a lot like mine. What tears me apart most is the msm & it’s going at him & the family full tilt.
And I’ll say it again, the parents who signed on to lead public lives thru TLC did not have hindsight nor foresight and if I had been in their shoes I would have never signed on.
Now that the show has been dropped perhaps this family and their son Josh and his wife & children regain a sense of privacy over their lives and deal with their problems as they see fit. I sure hope Josh Duggar has a job lined up ‘cause it’s bye-bye Wash DC for him.
The msm will crucify the family again & again all over this long weekend and as I write this I sure hope the father Jim-Bob Duggar makes a public statement. If they don’t that even piles on more of the gossip.
sad, really....
This is all a very sordid state of events even w/o a timeline but I just couldn’t help myself injecting a note of humor here tonight.
Guess what’s on the Movie Channel up my way?
CHEAPER BY THE DOZEN- it’s the original film-(the Gilbreths)
Now THAT was a family!
.
You are twisting Paul’s words to match your state of mind.
His point was that christians should not turn to a lesser authority than the kingdom, to the extent that it was manifest on Earth.
.
What Josh did was a felony. We have laws to protect minors against these types of crimes for a reason. If we left it to the families most of them would probably handle it the way the Duggars did and the victims would not get help nor justice.
The Duggars claim that the girls have forgiven their brother. Did they have any choice? They were awfully young, one was only 4 years old. How is a 4 year old capable of giving forgiveness for something like that?
If he had cut off one of his sibling’s arm would it be none of our business? This IS our business. Just like it would be our business if he had physically beaten someone, robbed someone etc. One of the victims was not his sister. It was most likely another relative or friend of the family. Is that none of our business either?
God can forgive him but man does not have to. This is why we have a justice system.
If Josh had never done this the left wouldn’t have anything to be joyful about. This is Josh’s fault and no one elses. It is part of the consequences he must suffer because of his actions. Whether he is sorry or not.
He was born that way. He was just being himself. We should celebrate, throw a parade and make special laws to protect him. It’s all in the Constitution.
Would Paul have advocated helping murderers avoid arrest and imprisonment because the government was a lesser authority?
The government that Paul taught was placed over us by God?
Again, it is fairly straightforward that Paul was addressing Christians suing one another over personal disputes - he taught obedince to civil authority in criminal matters, and he lived that teaching to a martyr's death.
