Louisiana Abortion Activists Vandalize Billboards Exposing Planned Parenthood’s Abortion Business

In Louisiana, abortion activists are doing everything they can to ensure that the citizens of New Orleans don’t find out about Planned Parenthood’s abortion business. In fact, some are resorting to vandalism and recently destroyed a billboard that exposed the organizations number one priority.

The Nola Needs Peace Coalition, a group of churches and community organizations committed to building a peaceful New Orleans without abortion, placed one of their billboards directly next to the Planned Parenthood site that is slated to open early next year. The billboard reads: “Planned Parenthood Sells Abortion And They Plan to Sell More Here.”

Benjamin Clapper, the Executive Director of Louisiana Right to Life and leader of the Nola Needs Peace Coalition, said the following about the vandalism: “Yesterday we replaced two of our signs that had been vandalized by abortion supporters on the property next door to the Planned Parenthood property. Apparently members of pro-abortion groups in New Orleans have no regard for private property. We ask Planned Parenthood to denounce these instances of destruction of private property. They may continue to vandalize, but one thing is for sure, we will not be silenced. We will continue to stand for the 2,844 lives Planned Parenthood intends to abort on Claiborne Avenue.”

As LifeNews previously reported, in May 2013, Planned Parenthood broke ground in building their 7,000 square foot facility in New Orleans and promised to be open by the end of 2014. However, Louisiana Right to Life launched a campaign exposing the abortion giants true mission, and the Archbishop of New Orleans, Gregory Aymond, wrote a letter urging people to stand for a peaceful city, not one with more abortion. He said that the Archdiocese would not cooperate with the evil that takes place at Planned Parenthood in any way.

Although Planned Parenthood has been able to continue construction on their abortion center, the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals (DHH) denied their request to perform abortions in the state because they did not demonstration a need for another abortion facility. In a letter dated Jan. 8, 2015, DHH Secretary Kathy Kliebert wrote Planned Parenthood and said, “Your application failed to establish the probability of serious, adverse consequences to recipients’ ability to access outpatient abortion services if you are not allowed to apply for licensure.”

Of course Planned Parenthood disagreed and argued in a 74-page document that New Orleans needs 2,844 more abortions on an annual basis. Clapper said the following after reviewing Planned Parenthood’s brief: “Over the past few years Planned Parenthood has avoided almost all mention of abortion when discussing its new facility currently planned for Claiborne Avenue in New Orleans. They have focused instead on the need for women’s healthcare. Now, in a shockingly blunt and business-like manner, Planned Parenthood is making a case to the state of Louisiana that the New Orleans area needs 2,844 new abortions every year, and that Planned Parenthood is the business to sell those abortions.”

He concluded, “As we have said from the outset, more Planned Parenthood in New Orleans will lead to more abortions in New Orleans. This document makes that abundantly clear. Our city needs more peace and more authentic healthcare, not a mega-facility to sell abortion to our citizens.”

According to Planned Parenthood’s own annual report, in 2013 they performed 327,654 abortions, maintaining their position as the largest abortion business in America. The “non-profit” also ranked in $305.4 million and received over a half-billion dollars in taxpayer money, as it took in $540 million in 2012 and $528 million in 2013.

Apparently members of pro-abortion groups in New Orleans have no regard for private property.

Do you expect more from people who have no regard for human life?
