My genius dog decided there was an axe murderer in the yard at 4 AM this morning.
He was wrong.

Don’t feel bad, my genius dog believes axe murders are not nearly so dangerous as squirrels.

How do you know for sure?
He might have run off when faced with the defensive heroism of your brave genius dog!

Something was out there. You jokingly suggest it wasn’t an axe murderer.
I live immediately adjacent to miles and miles of forested Rocky Mountains. My dog will sometimes bark while looking out a window. When she barks like that, it is to get me to come and join her. Sometimes I see immediately what she sees, sometimes I don’t and just walk away. But, sometimes I sit and watch with her, and soon enough I see the deer or coyote or ground squirrel that got her attention.
