Man its a sad, sad day when I find myself in agreement with the Communist Chinese. I believe in freedom of religion and before 9/11, I was a strong proponent for all religions, including Islam, to be left alone to worship as they saw fit.
Now, I have a severe issue with Islamists those who in the name of Islam rape, enslave, murder, torture and conquer. Being a tyranny, China has no such qualms. They will ally with Islam in battle to accomplish their goals and then they will turn on them and put them down all factions in the end plan on doing that to each other thinking that they will be the ones to come out as the victor.
Within their own borders, China has decided to preemptively clean house persecution there is no longer just for Christians
it is much more for Muslims where head coverings are now outlawed and they are being forced to sell items other stores do such as cigarettes and alcohol or lose their businesses. Long beards are now prohibited and I hear that China is pondering outlawing mosques. No more terror for you guys Communism is the big dog there.

Warning - Long Rant
Faulunggong (FLG) should have been controlled.
Imagine a group in the US where the founder changed his name to George Washington and wore a suit and beard like Abraham Lincoln but said “I’m not political” The founder of FLG dresses like a Chinese Emperor and changed his name to sound like the first emperor of China.
Suppose that same groups founder changed his birthday to December 25 and created a story about how he was born in a stable and visited by wise men but claimed he was not founding a religious organization? The founder of FLG claims he was born on Buddha’s birthday (Which is not true) and that several legendary Buddhist scholars appeared as spirits to his mother at that time of his birth to state he was going to be a great spiritual leader. He then says he is not founding a religion.
The leader of FLG essentially claims to be the reincarnation of both Buddha and ancient Chinese emperors. He is either insane or a con-man of epic proportions and the Chinese government was justified in protecting its citizens from the organization.
China has some real problems with freedom of religion and freedom of expression in general but those problems are less severe than the issues faced by many churches in the US right now. I lived there 17 years and am ashamed to say that at this point the churches in China probably proclaim the gospel more faithfully than many US churches.
The commissars realize, for the most part that Christian are good citizens and Muslims are not.
Even if true, you really think any of that justifies criminally banning the practice?
I think Japan doesn’t allow muslims in either.

Japan does technically allow Muslims in, however their lives are monitored rather heavily and it very, very hard to rent a living space, to say nothing of buying a home.
Also, the steady apprehension of everyday Japanese people to any person in mideast garb and/or long beard is extremely reliable —those images are VERY tightly associated with terrorism, violence and anger, much more so than in the USA.
Even a native Japanese woman with a good background but who marries a Muslim foreigner and decides to go around in Arab garb is regarded as a scary freak —One To Be Avoided.
I have seen it —the woman becomes a total foreigner in her own country.
Japan will NEVAR face take-over by Muslims, though they face many other dangers.
Bill Maher is critical towards organized religion as a whole, but believes that “all religions are not alike.” Maher says there is something different about Islam, in that “there is no other religion that is asking for the death” of people who dare to criticize it. Bill Maher is mostly obnoxious but his comments on Islam are interesting.
What other dangers do they have to worry about? My daughter wants to go there.
Attack by China (probably mostly confined to areas uninhabited by 99% of Japanese people, i.e. remote islands)
Natural disasters (like the quake/tsunami some years back)
LOW BIRTH RATE
Japan is a super great place, extremely safe, but the above dangers do remain.
Even late at night in a big city, among really drunk Japanese people it is often very safe (but then I’m huge, powerful, and look a little scary, anyway).
If you want to go for a visit of some weeks, then go in mid Spring or early Summer:
Japan gets very hot and muggy in mid-summer...actually most of summer.
She’ll want to visit:
Kyoto
Kamakura
Hakone
Tokyo
Nikko
Kobe
“Being a tyranny, China has no such qualms. They will ally with Islam in battle to accomplish their goals and then they will turn on them and put them down”
Interesting. Replace China with Democrats and it makes PERFECT sense. EXCEPT...the Democrats will not be putting Islam down, it will be the opposite.
They're playing to win.
The Lefties in the Western Civilization countries are playing to donate a green Mother Gaia to the Chinese & the Islamofascists.
Save The Planet For ISLAM!!! LOL! :)
I sometimes think the lefties are a sort of negative feedback effect for human population control. Whenever our numbers get big, the stupid emerge and kill off a bunch of us.
The problem is a loss of faith. The clergy lost faith in their own teachings. One cannot instill in others a faith one does not own. I recall a quote from Bertrand Russell, the mathematician and philosopher. He recalled that when he was in school he had been taught religion by agnostics. We are in much the same situation. Back in 1967, Fr. Charles Curran was teaching theology at Catholic university, and it became increasing obvious that he not longer thought of his faith as true, except in a mythical way. The bishops who were the trustees of at C.U. told him they would not renew his contract. He rebelled, refused to accept the decision, and a petition was got up that included the signatures of 500 theologians. The bishops backed down, he not only kept his job but got tenure. That summer the presidents of the Catholic colleges got together at Land of Lakes and in effect declared their independence of the episcopacy. Since that time, these schools have become less and less Catholic, and now have in effect stopped teaching the faith. And if that is the situation in the R.C. Church schools, imagine what has happened in the colleges associated with the mainline Protestant bodies.
Islam's finally getting the attention it deserves.
>> What other dangers do they have to worry about? <<
Ten dangers of Japan, in no particular order:
1. Raw fish in sushi and sashimi.
2. Mixed nude bathing at hot springs resorts.
3. “Pushers” at subway stations who, in their zeal to get everybody on board a train, may (unintentionally?) touch one’s private parts.
4. Wasabi (very hot horse radish) hidden in some food dishes — can cause injury to the sinuses.
5. Fugu fish — which, if not prepared properly, can kill you with poisonous toxins.
6. Massage girls who will walk on your back. Potentially dangerous if your daughter has a fragile spine or other back problems.
7. Small inns (ryokan) where you gotta sleep on the floor on a straw mat. Again, potentially dangerous if your daughter is prone to back problems.
8. The world’s worst desserts. Can spoil an otherwise nice meal.
9. Deceptively polite and deceptively agreeable people whose “yes” only means, “I’ll think about it.”
10. Traffic that runs on the wrong side of the street. Many tourists have been hit while crossing, because they instinctively look to the right rather than to the left.
