Insurance lady asked me what kind of dog do I have.... I said half red heeler half lab and she is a good dog. She asked me how big she was (she is 80 lbs, but I said none of your business) I am getting upset at this point. I told her that if ever Ki was to get out of control that I would 'fix' it. I am not above certain things. I just don't like noses being stuck up my ass. I live on the family ranch and I have to have big dogs. This is just pissing me off.

Our Homeowners Insurance had that Breed of Dog on their Exception List. Simply stated, if the Dog Bit someone, the Insurance would not cover the Liability Claim.
They did not refuse to Insure us or ask for a Higher Premium.
When I called about insurance on my mountain cabin the first thing they asked me was did I have a dog. I said a Beagle. Then they asked if he ever bit anybody. Then when I switched insurance on my house same deal. I said at that point a Chihuahua and a Beagle and they asked if the Chihuahua had ever bit anybody. The one company told me there are 5 breeds they won’t insure. One was Pit Bull and one was Rotweiler. I can’t remember the others.
My broker said to me, “Don’t tell me about your dog.”
140 pounds of Briard. He’d stand on his hind legs, put his front paws on my shoulders and stare me eye to eye. I’m 6’3” Big dog! Scared away some burglars that backed a truck up to my front door!
In such a case as this complaints is what changes things, if no one complained other insurance companies would adopt the same policy, as you can see by this thread other Ins Companies are getting business because of the ones foolishness.
Here on FR we communicate our frustrations with gov't and other bureaucracy, computer tech, auto's, guns/ammo and a host of other frustrations, we are not complainers we find solutions to many problems here, I can't begin to tell how I've benefited from freepers posting threads that you refer to as complainers.
Besides all that aren't you the one who is the complainer in this thread.
To all freepers keep complaining (communicating) and keep offering good solid advice mixed with inevitable humor on the frustrations of life.
No kidding.
A few years ago I switched insurance companies, just like a bunch of other posters have said they have done. That took almost a month.
Next on all our lists, I'm sure, is switching governments.
Hope that's just as fast and easy.

I sympathize somewhat with the original poster. A few years ago I applied for auto insurance with Amiga and it was denied because I owned a gun. Not sure how gun ownership and driving are related, but there it was.
