According to Jon White and the Derby Strikes System, these are the horsies that can win this year's race:
1. American Pharoah
2. International Star
3. Dortmund
4. Carpe Diem

You can't really tell from the PPs but American Pharoah is almost certainly going to win.

I like him a lot too. He has excellent early speed. Even more impressive to me, though, is how he pulls away at the end after leading all the way. That was the running style of the late great filly Ruffian. Not seriously comparing him to her talent wise. One problem is favorites don’t often do too well in the Derby, at least in terms of winning. He could pay $5.00 or more to show, given the large 20-horse field. That’s $500 back for a $200 show bet. Hard to imagine him not running at least 3rd.

I got $50 on FAR RIGHT at 30-1. Horses with worse odds have won before.
They're off !!

Thanks for the information.
I’m betting American Pharoah, Dortmund, Carpe Diem and have to put money on Far Right.

Thanks, ETL. I’ve not been following this years Derby preps and will not be wagering. Very interesting nonetheless. The best couple of minutes of drama in American sports history.

It seems a horse race is the only thing recently on FR that doesn’t involve the filth of politics.
Thank God.
