I figured you and a lot of the folks here would find a lot of this info old news and are already doing the recommended practices. Our soil guy would probably give you a gold star since you are not losing your yard clippings and leaves, and amending the soil properly!

No I wouldn't call it old news. LOL Hubby just never liked to rake leaves or any of the rest of the yard stuff. He only mows, because you can't just let the grass grow 2 or 3 feet tall.

He also saw no reason to rake leaves or trimmings. Now he does do some raking to collect some of the stuff into a pile for the garden, but the rest just gets a run over with the mower and is left to go back to nature. As long as it's short enough to keep the health department from knocking on the door, it's ok with me.
